Early oval set attached.

I'm really looking forward to this one, it's been a couple years since we had oval racing on Thursday nights. Too bad we only get one this season.

Just an FYI for you guys. I did an official practice last night and after 42 laps the RF tire was down to 31% while the RR was about 88%. By my calculation depending on how many cautions we have we are looking at over 100 laps. Based on how much I used last night with the baseline setup the tire will be to zero around lap 65 if green the whole way.

Sorry all for starting the night off with an immediate caution. Even with a conservative setup the inside line was sliiiiick. Also I crumble under pressure like a sand castle. I think a mid-size oval would produce better racing, a short oval with very little banking was a tough start. Congrats to all that survived the gauntlet!

I think that first lap incident was my fault. I tried to stay way down to avoid the car above me and the rear end just came out. Sorry for all those that got caught in it.

I love ovals and road courses and appreciate the directors including this track, which is on the real schedule, so authenticity was preserved. Don't think a racing career is complete without mastering both race course types (which doesn't include me!). I do think oval racing is tougher, but this one was new and and really tough.
So much has to do with luck and fuel strategy, and tire management, etc. I chose to basically run a high down-force setting and thought I'd be overrun, but was lucky. Just enough to get faster on the "long" runs, but no real chance of getting loose except on the first lap. I could have easily finished last, but for only having to use the fast repair once. My tire pressures on the right were north of 30.
Glad to be back at PRL and look forward to running many series' with you. A great group to race with, and hilarious too! Now, back to the back. :D

Was definitely punching above my weight class last night.  But it was a blast hanging with the fast guys through 1 an 2 then the backstretch, would lose them with my line through 3/4

I personally loved the chaos. It was a wildcard race for sure. I must have been hit 4 or 5 times but never got a meatball flag, so I stayed out as long as possible, pitted under caution to use my fast repair and pulled off a very rare top 10.
