Teamspeak is the software we use for voice communication during races, and is mandatory for everyone.  If you are not connected to the TS server, you shall be disqualified from the race.

Teamspeak can be downloaded here:  http://teamspeak.com

Once installed, go through the set up wizard for your microphone and make sure you select Push-To-Talk in the Microphone Settings.  You can map your Push-To-Talk button to anything including a button on your steering wheel.  Please don’t map it to a button that you will be using regularly for something else such as typing as everyone will else will hear a click every time you use that button while typing something.

You need to create a new Server for PRL.  Go to Connections > Connect

Server Information
Server Address: 178.33.254.26:9055
Nickname: Use your forum username or full name
Server Password: PRL7

In addition to the Push to Talk button being what you'd use to talk to everyone, you must set up a second Push to Talk button (Whisper) to talk only to your teammate as follows (Note that your teammate has to be online at the time you do this, but once done, it will remain once your teammate leaves the server):

Go to Settings > Options > Whisper > Whisper Lists then click on New to set your whisper button. After, on the right side of the window, expand Precision Racing League, expand Clients, and double click on your teammate.

Once connected, ensure you join the appropriate channel for your Championship. There are also 5 practice channels you may use at any time.

Want to talk privately with your teammate without being disrupted when you are on track!? We are offering you to rent your own password protected channel for only $1.95 USD/month!

In the event that the PRL Teamspeak server is unavailable, in-game voice chat shall be used as a backup communications solution.

OK I connect to Teamspeak as requested. But I can't see who is talking. Unless there is a way to do that, I find the system do not promote exchanges (mainly during practices) and allow better community building. During races, hard to tell other driver(s) what are your intentions (passing, giving way, pitting etc). In fact, pretty silent scene. I saw some people using the iRacing chat system (could see the names), is this allowed?

I am usually using whisper to jibber jabber at my teammate. This way I am not bothering others. I know that my concentration takes a hit if guys are chit chatting.

Generally, if a message is for you - you're gonna know it was for you based on the situation.

I think Overwolf is not woeking with the last iRacing update :(

Regarding TS, as stated in the Rules, it is mandatory to be there. During practice, yes you can talk, but during quali and race, you cannot talk.

Please make sure you read the Teamspeak section of the Rules, Settings, Points & Classification.

Have you installed overwolf?  It adds an overlay to show you whos talking.

Had to inunstalle Ovberwolf cause it seems to be at the base of my iRacing crashes problems.  No crashes since I uninstall it.

And for who is talking, we are not to many, and you will know guys fast by their voice.  Don't be shy to ask who is talking to....

Yeah I uninstalled it after I realized it will steal your controls from iRacing if you click on it while on track. Nearly had a heart attack lol, drove straight into the wall. Glad I found out before trying it in an actual race. It is a huge bummer to net be able to see the names of who's talking though as I don't really know all your voices yet.

Me again. I could hear conversations in Karsten stream, but nothing during the race. Yes I am connected to the TS server. Any hints?

Hi,

You were in the lobby (where nobody is).  You have to move to the propoer channel, Thursday night, where everybody is.....I think that is was Tyler that tried to message you in game chat about it.
