Round 9: Nurburgring Grand-Prix-Strecke - BES/WEC (Oct 3)
[ul]
[li][ID: 427] The Stewards investigated an incident involving 3 cars (Freddy de la Rosa, Tony Costello & Fausto M Duran Contreras) that happened entering Turn 11 on Lap 6. The replay shows that the 3 drivers were in close proximity to each other down the previous straight, heading into the braking zone. Fausto was the lead car, followed by Tony & Freddy. Freddy was on the left side of the track in position for a possible overtake attempt on Tony, when Tony then went for an overtake attempt on Fausto. There was minor contact between Freddy's RF and Tony's LR fenders, but it was enough to slide Tony in Fausto, as all 3 cars completed a half spin in Turn 11. In the small straight before Turn 12, the 3 cars did (albeit very briefly) return to their previous positions before any overtakes happened in Turn 12. Due to the close nature of the cars, how fast the moves happened, and that all 3 cars did return to their original order, this will be deemed a racing incident and no penalties will be awarded.[/li]
[li][ID: 428] The Stewards investigated a collision involving Freddy de la Rosa and Tony Costello entering Turn 14 on Lap 6. Tony was the leading car, with Freddy following behind. Freddy was using the slipstream to close ground and attempt an overtake on the entry of Turn 14. As Tony starting his braking for turn entry, Freddy was no able to maneuver to the left in time and made contact in which both drivers spun and lost a position. Since Freddy created the contact as the trailing car, did not have any establish overtake at that point anyway which could have been viewed as a potential dive bomb had the contact not happened, and that Freddy gained the position on Tony after the spin and did not relinquish it back, Freddy will be awarded a 3 point penalty.[/li]
[li][ID:429] The Stewards investigated an incident involving Tony Costello & Guillaume Dupont2 on Lap 22 at the between Turns 1 thru 3. Guillaume was the leading car, with Tony following behind. After Turn 1, Tony bumped Guillaume who started to spin. While Tony locked his wheels because of the bump, Guillaume managed to keep the control of his car and both cars stayed in their original positions. Entering Turn 3, Tony tried to carry more speed through the braking zone than Guillaume in an attempt to overtake on the inside lane. Contact was made and Tony gained the position over Guillaume. Due to no establish overtake entering the turn, the contact would be credited towards Tony (dive bomb). An event of that nature would normally warrant a 3 point penalty due to the position not being returned after creating contact, however due to verbal abuse toward Guillaume after the race, Tony will be disqualified from the race for braking the PRL code of conduct. Further offense might result a suspensions, or even a ban.[/li]
