Protest

[ul]
[li]All protests relating to a racing incident must be submitted within 72 hours of event completion. Protests that are submitted late will be dismissed.[/li]
[li]We suggest drivers involved in an on-track situation to talk it over with one another first before turning in a Stewarding Protest. Take it upon yourselves to watch the replays, even in slow motion if needed.[/li]
[li]Protests that are incorrectly submitted or late will be dismissed. Please contact the Chief Steward directly if you are having issues making a submission before the 48 hour time limit.[/li]
[li]The driver being protested may be contacted by the Chief Steward if their PoV is deemed necessary, either by the website private message system or by email. The protested driver then has 72 hours to submit his/her own evidence. A ruling can be made by the Stewards without needing the Protested driver's PoV. [/li]
[li]The incident will be reviewed by the Stewards, and a decision will be announced in the respective championship’s "Stewards Reports" topic, along with the Incident ID.[/li]
[/ul]

Appeals

[ul]
[li]All appeals must be submitted within 72 hours of the publication of the Stewards Report as follows:
[ul]
[li]Send an email to stewards@precisionracingleague.com[/li]
[li]The subject line must be in the following format: Appeal: [Investigation ID][/li]
[li]List your PRL username in the body text[/li]
[li]Your e-mail must explain why you feel the initial decision by the Stewards was wrong.[/li]
[/ul]
[/li]
[li]Appeals shall be reasonable, logical, based on sound evidence, and related to the PRL Racing Rules.[/li]
[li]Appeals that are frivolous, incorrectly submitted, or late will be dismissed.  Repeated appeals of this nature will result in disciplinary action.[/li]
[li]Only one appeal per incident is permitted.[/li]
[li]The Appeal will be reviewed by an extended PRL Stewarding team, and a decision will be announced in the respective championship’s Stewards Reports thread.[/li]
[li]If a driver loses 2 Appeals in a 30 day period, they will have a 60 day ban placed on them before being able to Appeal another ruling by the Stewards.[/li]
[/ul]

Penalties

[ul]
[li]The penalties that can be awarded for infractions of the rules include time penalties, points deductions, position penalties, race disqualifications, grid penalties, race suspensions, or you may be made to start the next race from the pits.[/li]
[li]More severe penalties may be given in some circumstances.  The PRL Stewards reserve the right to award any penalty they feel is appropriated.[/li]
[li]Some protests will result in a warning rather than a penalty, but a second warning within 3 months may result in a penalty.[/li]
[/ul]

Round 1 - Laguna Seca

[li][COMPLETE - PENALTY ISSUED] The stewards have received a protest for an incident between Dany Duchesne and Anthony Carbone. After reviewing the incident, the stewards have found Carbone to be at fault for impeding Duchesne while recovering from an incident. After a spin, Carbone backed up onto and completely across the racing surface. These actions caused a collision as Duchesne took evasive action. Based on the space and where this incident occurred, it could have been prevented by waiting and/or not backing up across the entire racing surface. As a result, Carbone has been issued a 5-point Major penalty.[/li]
[li][COMPLETE - PENALTY ISSUED] The stewards have received a protest for an incident between Steve Baker and Andres Espinoza. After reviewing the incident the stewards have found Andres Espinoza to be at fault for a collision with Steve Baker. Espinoza failed to establish sufficient overlap prior to the braking zone at turn 2 on Lap 27. As a result of this attempt, he missed the apex and collided with Baker. The stewards have issued a 5-point minor penalty to Espinoza and wish to remind all drivers to review the corner-rights rules. *The second portion of this protest involving an attempted bump-pass at the final corner on Lap 10 has been ruled as a racing incident. There was no damage to either car, and the leading car was not impeded in the incident. No further action will be taken.[/li]

Round 4 - Road America
[ul]
[li]The stewards have issued a start from the pit penalty for Jefferson Padovani for his chat conduct on Lap 1. All drivers are reminded to think twice before pressing the push-to-talk button. Respect is mandatory at all times.[/li]
[li]The stewards reviewed the incident on Lap 1 involving multiple drivers. Approaching the braking zone, Steve Baker was ahead of Jean-Francois Hevey. Without any overlap from behind, Steve Baker is free to move back to the racing line. As he did so, Hevey braked late, resulting in a closing speed that ended up in a collision that collected multiple cars. Without the overlap required, this is a situation that needs to be anticipated. The stewards have issued Hevey with a 5-point minor penalty with a 3 car multiplier for an 11-point total.

Round 8 - Mid Ohio
[ul]
[li][COMPLETE] The stewards are reviewed a collision between Marco Oliviera and Kenny Duval. The stewards have ruled that this contact was not an intentional bump pass, and as such have issued Kenny Duval a 5-point minor penalty since the position gained was not immediately handed back to Oliviera.[/li]
