Protest

[ul]
[li]All protests relating to a racing incident must be submitted within 48 hours of event completion. Protests that are submitted late will be dismissed.[/li]
[li]We suggest drivers involved in an on-track situation to talk it over with one another first before turning in a Stewarding Protest. Take it upon yourselves to watch the replays, even in slow motion if needed.[/li]
[li]Protests that are incorrectly submitted or late will be dismissed. Please contact the Chief Steward directly if you are having issues making a submission before the 48 hour time limit.[/li]
[li]The driver being protested may be contacted by the Chief Steward if their PoV is deemed necessary, either by the website private message system or by email. The protested driver then has 48 hours to submit his/her own evidence. A ruling can be made by the Stewards without needing the Protested driver's PoV. [/li]
[li]The incident will be reviewed by the Stewards, and a decision will be announced in the respective championship’s "Stewards Reports" topic, along with the Incident ID.[/li]
[/ul]

Appeals

[ul]
[li]All appeals must be submitted within 48 hours of the publication of the Stewards Report as follows:
[ul]
[li]Send an email to stewards@precisionracingleague.com[/li]
[li]The subject line must be in the following format: Appeal: [Investigation ID][/li]
[li]List your PRL username in the body text[/li]
[li]Your e-mail must explain why you feel the initial decision by the Stewards was wrong.[/li]
[/ul]
[/li]
[li]Appeals shall be reasonable, logical, based on sound evidence, and related to the PRL Racing Rules.[/li]
[li]Appeals that are frivolous, incorrectly submitted, or late will be dismissed.  Repeated appeals of this nature will result in disciplinary action.[/li]
[li]Only one appeal per incident is permitted.[/li]
[li]The Appeal will be reviewed by an extended PRL Stewarding team, and a decision will be announced in the respective championship’s Stewards Reports thread.[/li]
[li]If a driver loses 2 Appeals in a 30 day period, they will have a 60 day ban placed on them before being able to Appeal another ruling by the Stewards.[/li]
[/ul]

Penalties

[ul]
[li]The penalties that can be awarded for infractions of the rules include time penalties, points deductions, position penalties, race disqualifications, grid penalties, race suspensions, or you may be made to start the next race from the pits.[/li]
[li]More severe penalties may be given in some circumstances.  The PRL Stewards reserve the right to award any penalty they feel is appropriated.[/li]
[li]Some protests will result in a warning rather than a penalty, but a second warning within 3 months may result in a penalty.[/li]
[/ul]

Round 1 - Interlagos
[ul]
[li]The stewards investigated a collision between Hortal and Russo at T1. Russo locked up a wheel under braking and was attempting to make the corner. Hortal was following and had not established any form of overlap. He continued through the corner on his line, creating contact with the rear of Russo's car, spinning him. The stewards believe that Hortal had ample time to adjust his speed given how long Russo had his LF wheel locked. The stewards are ruling this an avoidable incident, and have issued Hortal a 10-point major penalty.[/li]

Round 3 - Watkins Glen

[li]The stewards investigated an Orange Zone incident involving Espinoza, Utreras, and Stadler. Espinoza makes an aggressive move into T1 forcing 3-wide and in doing so missed his braking point and collides with Utreras who then takes out Stadler. Espinoza has been issued a 10-point major penalty, with a 2-point car multiplier for a total of 12-points.[/li]
[li]The stewards investigated an incident between Williams and Calquin. Williams creates contact with Calquin on exit and both drivers come to a stop off the racing line. Williams does not gain any positions, and per the PRL Penalty Matrix he has been assessed a 5-point minor penalty.[/li]

Round 4 - Canadian Tire Motorsports Park

[li]Midway through qualifying, Bruno Asturi has an off-track at Moss corner and leaves his car off-track for upwards of 5-minutes causing yellow flag conditions for many drivers resulting in an additional 5-cars off track. For impeding drivers during qualifying by leaving his car in this position Bruno has been issued a 5-point major penalty with a 5-car multiplier for a total of 10-points.[/li]

Round 5 - Imola
[ul]
[li]The stewards investigated an incident involving Gac and Uribe. After thoroughly looking at the evidence, the stewards have ruled this incident as a racing incident due to the netcode effect clearly evident on the replay. No penalties will be issued.[/li]
[li]The stewards investigated two incidents between Utreras and Torres-Lopez on Laps 8 & 9. The lap 8 incident has been deemed a racing incident as both cars came together in Turn 13 approaching Rivazza. The contact was light, but both cars spun off track with neither car gaining a position over the other. Note - the stewards also reviewed excessive headlight flashing by Utreras as both cars recovered from this incident. Per the PRL Penalty Matrix - Utreras has been handed a 5-point minor penalty. The lap 9 incident occurred at the entry to Rivazza on the following lap. In this incident, Torres-Lopez leaves the door open by positioning his car away from the apex, and Utreras makes his intent clear and pulls into this space as they approach the apex. A collision forces Torres-Lopez off-track. Utreras does not hand the position back, and has been issued a 5-point minor penalty. [/li]

Round 6 - Spa
[ul]
[li]The stewards investigated a collision between Meesz and Asturi at La Source on Lap 3. Asturi is following and collides hard with Meesz at the end of the braking zone sending both cars into the runoff area. The stewards have ruled this as a major penalty to Asturi. This is his second of the season, Bruno Asturi will be suspended for Round 8.[/li]
[li]A collision between Schmidt and Dunegan was reviewed. The stewards have ruled that Schmidt was at fault for this collision and the position was not handed back. Schmidt is handed a 5-point minor penalty.[/li]
[li]The stewards reviewed a collision between Gac and Utreras at Blanchimont. With Gac following and gaining in the draft after Utreras had a poor exit out of the previous corner, Gac makes a move for the inside where there was less than a car width of room. Utreras' steering input was neutral leading up to this point, so no move to block was made. The stewards have ruled this as a racing incident and wish to remind all drivers that patience often pays off. Forcing a pass at a high speed curve with very little room is asking for disaster.[/li]
[li]The stewards reviewed a collision that resulted from a previous incident with Utreras coming to a stop sideways on track. Instead of holding the brakes and not moving his car, Utreras attempted to recover with traffic approaching. Doing so caused a collision as it negated some of the evasive action taken by Russo. For moving in this situation, Utreras has been issued a 5-point major penalty.[/li]

Round 7 - Road America
[ul]
[li]The stewards investigated an orange zone collision between Eduardo Gac and Pablo Valenzuela. Gac completely misses his braking point and collides with Valenzuela sending him off track where he rejoins at the back of the pack with no cars in sight. Given that drivers are expected to exercise caution on Lap 1, the stewards have ruled this as a major penalty and have issued Gac a start from pitlane penalty for Round 8.[/li]

Round 9 - Le Mans

[li]The stewards investigated a chain of events that occurred between Luis Paim and Ignacio Hortal. The first event has Paim using the draft to pull alongside Hortal who does not hold his line creating contact between the two cars. These aggressive maneuvers continue for several corners. The final incident occurs when Paim uses the draft to pull alongside Hortal once again. As Paim pulls ahead, Hortal steers into the rear wheel of Paim spinning him into the wall. This was an intentional wreck and this type of behavior will not be tolerated in PRL. Ignacio Hortal has been permanently banned from PRL.[/li]
