Protest

[ul]
[li]All protests relating to a racing incident must be submitted within 48 hours of event completion. Protests that are submitted late will be dismissed.[/li]
[li]We suggest drivers involved in an on-track situation to talk it over with one another first before turning in a Stewarding Protest. Take it upon yourselves to watch the replays, even in slow motion if needed.[/li]
[li]Protests that are incorrectly submitted or late will be dismissed. Please contact the Chief Steward directly if you are having issues making a submission before the 48 hour time limit.[/li]
[li]The driver being protested may be contacted by the Chief Steward if their PoV is deemed necessary, either by the website private message system or by email. The protested driver then has 48 hours to submit his/her own evidence. A ruling can be made by the Stewards without needing the Protested driver's PoV. [/li]
[li]The incident will be reviewed by the Stewards, and a decision will be announced in the respective championship’s "Stewards Reports" topic, along with the Incident ID.[/li]
[/ul]

Appeals

[ul]
[li]All appeals must be submitted within 48 hours of the publication of the Stewards Report as follows:
[ul]
[li]Send an email to stewards@precisionracingleague.com[/li]
[li]The subject line must be in the following format: Appeal: [Investigation ID][/li]
[li]List your PRL username in the body text[/li]
[li]Your e-mail must explain why you feel the initial decision by the Stewards was wrong.[/li]
[/ul]
[/li]
[li]Appeals shall be reasonable, logical, based on sound evidence, and related to the PRL Racing Rules.[/li]
[li]Appeals that are frivolous, incorrectly submitted, or late will be dismissed.  Repeated appeals of this nature will result in disciplinary action.[/li]
[li]Only one appeal per incident is permitted.[/li]
[li]The Appeal will be reviewed by an extended PRL Stewarding team, and a decision will be announced in the respective championship’s Stewards Reports thread.[/li]
[li]If a driver loses 2 Appeals in a 30 day period, they will have a 60 day ban placed on them before being able to Appeal another ruling by the Stewards.[/li]
[/ul]

Penalties

[ul]
[li]The penalties that can be awarded for infractions of the rules include time penalties, points deductions, position penalties, race disqualifications, grid penalties, race suspensions, or you may be made to start the next race from the pits.[/li]
[li]More severe penalties may be given in some circumstances.  The PRL Stewards reserve the right to award any penalty they feel is appropriated.[/li]
[li]Some protests will result in a warning rather than a penalty, but a second warning within 3 months may result in a penalty.[/li]
[/ul]

Round 1 - Sebring
[ul]
[li][COMPLETE] The stewards received multiple reports of incidents involving Diego Portell Ignacio Garrido including causing collisions that were easily avoidable, and an unsafe rejoin that impacted the race of several drivers. Based on a long history of on-track incidents spanning multiple seasons, including a season suspension for the remainder of the 2020S1 GTE season, the stewards have revoked Diego's privileges of racing with PRL permanently.[/li]
[li][COMPLETE] The stewards reviewed a Lap 1 Orange zone incident between Stephen Asch and Anthony Pisano. As Pisano approached the turn in point at T1 on Lap 1, he was under pressure from another car behind. In attempting to defend his position, his braking point was very deep resulting in understeer at the expected turn-in point for his line. This understeer caused him to drift wide and off his line colliding with Stephen Asch. The stewards have issued a 5-point minor penalty to Anthony Pisano for this Lap 1 turn 1 incident. All drivers are reminded that races are not won or lost at turn 1 on the first lap.[/li]
[li][COMPLETE] The stewards reviewed a Lap 1 Orange zone incident between Ken Huber and Horacio Calquin. The stewards have ruled this as a racing incident and no penalty will be issued. The trailing driver made a late move for an opening that was closing with a late apex from the leading driver.[/li]
[li][COMPLETE] The stewards reviewed an incident between Horacio Calquin and Bill Krause. With both drivers side-by-side, an iRacing netcode issue resulted in a collision. Both cars safely left the racing surface and did not impede any other drivers directly. The stewards have no issued any penalties for this incident.[/li]

Round 2 - Lime Rock Park
[ul]
[li][COMPLETE] The stewards reviewed an incident involving an unsafe return to the racing surface by Donald Olson, submitted by David Duino. Exiting the chicane, Olson clipped the curb to the outside unsettling the car and sending him off-track. While attempting to regain control, he re-entered the racing surface colliding with David Duino. The stewards have issued Olson with a 5-point minor penalty.[/li]
[li][COMPLETE - MANAGEMENT REVIEW - ORANGE ZONE] The stewards reviewed the Lap 1 incident at the chicane involving multiple cars and have found Luis Paim Jr. at fault. Into the braking zone, Paim made contact with the car ahead resulting in a chain of events that impacted 6 additional cars. Paim will be issued a 5-point minor penalty with a 12-point car multiplier per the PRL penalty matrix. All drivers are reminded to give extra space into heavy braking zones on the opening lap. The field will back up resulting in much earlier braking zones. Be prepared for this.[/li]

Round 5 - Watkins Glen
[ul]
[li][COMPLETE] The stewards investigated a Lap 1 incident involving Horacio Calquin and Shawn Romig into Turn 1. Approaching the braking point, Calquin did not establish overlap for his inside position. Calquin has been issued a major penalty for this incident.[/li]
[li][COMPLETE] The stewards investigated a second Lap 1 incident involving Horacio Calquin and Shawn Romig. After review, this contact was precipitated as a result of an incident ahead. Romig checks up more than Calquin does and another collision results. The stewards have awarded Calquin with a minor penalty for this collision. With both lap 1 incidents in mind, the stewards have issued Calquin a start from the pits penalty for Round 6 and a 5-point penalty as per the PRL Penalty Matrix. All drivers are encouraged to remember that races are not won on Lap 1. To finish first, you first must finish.[/li]
[li][REJECTED] The stewards investigated a potential jumped start by Rafael Russo but insufficient evidence was submitted and this protest has been rejected by the stewards.[/li]

Round 5 - Watkins Glen
[ul]
[li][COMPLETE] The stewards have reviewed an appeal from Horacio Calquin for his Round 5 penalties. The ruling on the first incident into the bus stop has been reversed and called a racing incident. This collision is a direct result of action ahead that started a chain reaction of early braking and led to Calquin closing at a higher rate of speed than he anticipated. The car ahead was able to clear the incident, but only because the cars ahead were able to clear the racing line and he had a clear line of sight that allowed for early braking. The stewards have unanimously agreed to rule this as a racing incident.
The second appeal has been denied. Romig left more than a car-width into the braking zone and had no significant movement under braking. Calquin has been held responsible for this collision and has been issued a 5-point minor penalty.[/li]

[li][COMPLETE - ORANGE ZONE REVIEW] The stewards reviewed an orange zone incident between Cristian Eissler and Ken Huber. On lap 1, Cristian makes contact with the rear corner of Ken Huber. While some netcode did exist, the stewards have ruled that the momentum of Eisslers car would have resulted in the same outcome. Eissler has been issued a 5-point minor penalty for the incident.[/li]

Round 8 - Mid-Ohio
[ul]
[li]The stewards reviewed an incident between Brandon Wilson and Cristian Eissler. After running wide and onto the grass, Wilson attempts to re-enter the track at speed. Due to the off track, his momentum had been lost and he was caught and passed by the cars behind. When he reentered the racing surface, it was right at the apex curbing. Eissler had already adjusted his line and lifted the throttle to compensate. Any braking at this point would have resulted in a spin. For his actions leading up to this collision Brandon Wilson is issued a 5-point minor penalty.[/li]
