Good overall race tonight gents, I'll never be upset over a 1 caution race. But there are a few things I want to touch on though:
For our new guys learning with us and are happy to get the track time to get better, the best advice I can give you is that stability is always more important than speed. Especially if you feel like you are off pace and getting lapped is a possibility, then my advice is focus on that stability. Also, I enjoyed the communication, but more importantly is holding a clean line and don't compromise yourself trying to hit your push to talk in a bad spot or put yourself in a bad spot mirror driving. Holding a consistent and steady line is key more than anything else.
As well. I will never not ask someone to not race their race, but my ask is to please keep and open mind in late race situations. If you are several laps down on fresh tires and there are less than 10 laps to go and a gaggle of 6 or 7 cars trying to fight for a Top 5, might be best to back off since you are not racing for any position and risk having a negative effect on the outcome. We are all competitive yes, but we try to aim for a level of respect throughout the lineout, and sometimes that involves knowing its just not our night and not risking ruining someone else's race.
Lets carry this momentum to next week and have a fun one at Loudon!
