Pre-Race Interview
1. Indy.... road course!!! Have you already practiced a few laps? What do you like/dislike about the layout?

2. What 1 technique would be your biggest need to improve on for Indy Cars?

3. Since we don't have a broadcaster, I am going to start saving replays so I can attach the race to the recap I will start doing for the league. Would you guys be interested in me conducting podium interviews as well after the race?

1. Indy.... road course!!! Have you already practiced a few laps? What do you like/dislike about the layout?
First off, the diagram above in incorrect in the fact that the arrow is pointed in the wrong direction. But I really enjoy this layout. The first 5 or 6 turns is pretty fun. I am not a fan of turn of between Oval Turns 1 & 2, mainly for the reason in question #2.

2. What 1 technique would be your biggest need to improve on for Indy Cars?
Progressive acceleration. Even in 2nd gear, I find it super easy to give it too much gas and spin the rears. I know I am giving up too much right now on turn exits on slow corners.

3. Since we don't have a broadcaster, I am going to start saving replays so I can attach the race to the recap I will start doing for the league. Would you guys be interested in me conducting podium interviews as well after the race?
I am up to host it if there is interest in the league.

Well ive done some private practice and some races with ai got down to 1:14 with full fuel on default. the only part i dont like is the bump going into road course turn 4. It unbalances the car when braking and causes lockups.

2. What 1 technique would be your biggest need to improve on for Indy Cars?

I would need to learn how to take car of my car, in every race I have been involved in and incident that costs me my wing causing me to go a lap down for repairs. If I take car of my car, im certain ill finish at the front with the pace i have.

3. Since we don't have a broadcaster, I am going to start saving replays so I can attach the race to the recap I will start doing for the league. Would you guys be interested in me conducting podium interviews as well after the race?
sure why not it sounds like a good idea

I've tried it out I like the lack of walls, I'm a 117 to 116, Its not fast but a good pace for me.

If it comes down to a shoot out ill lose I'm not aggressive enough with braking and throttle, however I'm smooth and consistent and hope to have 2 or less incidents at Indy.

I would definitely like to hear the winners take, who cares about the first loser.....lol.

1. Indy.... road course!!! Have you already practiced a few laps? What do you like/dislike about the layout? Will practice now

2. What 1 technique would be your biggest need to improve on for Indy Cars? Not spinning or at lest not spinning as much as the last race

3. Since we don't have a broadcaster, I am going to start saving replays so I can attach the race to the recap I will start doing for the league. Would you guys be interested in me conducting podium interviews as well after the race? HELL YEAH

Q: 3rd
Very happy with that result. I only hit 16.9 in TT, so to pull off a 14.5 was quite the suprise.

F: 3rd
I got lucky. I had 5 or 6 offs/spins, could only hit high 15s, and lost all of the groove I had in quali. I just got lucky that a few others had worse luck than me since my pace became so far off. Beyond happy that I survived the first 2 road races, and looking forward to the first oval race next week.

Q: 6th. I like to start tail end but this course wasn't necessarily going to need many stops so I tried to get up front....the bad part is I got center of the field middle of the accordion.

R: 6. Pulled off on the start fearing turn one, rolled up slow towards the spun cars driving through FiFi's car didnt ghost and he started to move taking off my wing and damaging suspension, fixed the wing suspension was only 1%, error free till the last corner where I spun trying to catch Mikhail.

Q:2nd

Didn’t get the lap I wanted before I quickly ate dinner so Aaron took the pole this time.

R:1st

Got lucky with Aaron getting a penalty at the start, then never looked back after. Finished with a 30 second lead over second and lapped everyone except for gordow in 2nd. Scariest part was lapping Brian since he was lagging a little bit but everything went my way tonight.

The 2nd race of our Inaugural Indy Car league took the crew to Indianapolis Motor Speedway, tackling the Road Course layout of the historic facility.

In qualifying, Aaron Webb (AaronWebb85) captured his first Pole of the league, beating out Round 1's Pole sitter Daniel Cervantes (Danny102897) who started outside of row 1. Charles Sumner (Hootius)Daniel Lozano (Gordow3497), and Brian Mosser (BrianMosser88) rounded out the Top 5 in qualifying.

The race started off with some unfortunate circumstances for our Pole sitter Aaron. Aaron was shown the black flag by the game off of the green light for being 1 mph over the pace limit. This effectively ended Aaron's chances at a win as he had to serve a drive-thru penalty at the end of Lap 1. The big benefactor of Aaron's issues was Daniel C., who took the lead, never looked back, and dominated the field on his way to his first Indy League win. Going into Turn 1 on Lap 1, we had a 5 car gaggle that turned some cars around. 1 of those spinners was Daniel L., who escaped the spin with no damage, ran a clean race after that and was able to bring home 2nd place, the only other car on the lead lap at the finish. Rounding out the podium was Charles, who won the race of survival as all drivers from 3rd on back had several spins throughout the race. Round 1 winner Kyle Spencer (KDawgHonda) crossed the line in 4th Place and took home the award for the Fastest Lap of the race. Rounding out the Top 5 was our Hard Charger of the race, Mikhail Jackson (Mikhail24RD) who jumped up 4 spots from his qualifying effort to score his first official Top 5 in the PRL.

**Top 10 finishers for Indianapolis Road Course**
1. Daniel Cervantes (Danny102897) - 1st IndyCar Win; 2nd overall in PRL competition
2. Daniel Lozano (Gordow3497) - 1st Podium of the Season
3. Charles Sumner (Hootius) - 2nd Podium of the Season
4. Kyle Spencer (KDawgHonda)
5. Mikhail Jackson (Mikhail24RD)
6. Rob Besaw (Xsyse)
7. Aaron Webb (AaronWebb85)
8. Dray Simpson (_Dray_)
9. Brian Mosser (BrianMosser88)
10. Mark Miller (Mark_LD)

In the Driver's Championship battle, Daniel Cervantes (Danny102897) and Charles Sumner (Hootius) were both able to close the gap on points leader Kyle Spencer (KDawgHonda), and sit only 2 points back after 2 rounds.

The Team Championship is also very tight after 2, as Car Ramrod (Charles and Kyle E.) hold a 4 point lead over Gor-X Racing (Rob and Daniel L.). However 1st thru 4th in the Team battle is only separated by 12 points, so any strong 2 podium finish can easily swing the points in a team's favor.

Big thank you to Rob Besaw (Xsyse) who took the time to make a recap video of the race, which is linked below. Next week will be the first oval race for the League as everyone stays put, and prepares to tackle 100 laps around the Indianapolis Oval. Each week, you can join one of several of our driver's who stream from their POVs.
