Season 9 of our famed Tuesday night PS4 GT3 league traveled to Japan for the first time to tackle the famously tough, Fuji Speedway. Before the race, our broadcaster had a chat with driver
Kyle Spencer (KDawgHonda777) as part of our new Driver Showcase interview to help our fans get to know the drivers they see on a weekly basis.
Kyle came into the interview after capturing his first GT3 League win last week, and you could still hear the excitement in his voice. That interview can be found
HERE.
Tyler McIntosh (MacAttack0922) qualifying streak continues, capturing all 10 Poles on the Season and bumping up his Career League Record to a nice even 20.
Logan Hornbuc kle (OneEyedLogo), Chase Cavalier (Doge_With_It_420), Vaughan Freeman (Chopz) and
Mark McCormak (RPG) rounded out the Top 5. The Top 5 was also a sight to see as we 5 different manufacturers represented in the Top 5 spots, showing some of the balance that we all hope would come with Project Cars 2. Also, 4th through 8th place were only separated by 0.190 secs, so we knew we would see some great action out on the track.
While the race would be an eventful one throughout the field, the night belonged to
Tyler.
Tyler took the hole-shot from the start, and that would be it.
Tyler was the last of the lead cars to make his scheduled pit stop, allowing him to stay in the top spot from start to finish. Tyler also took the Fastest Lap of the Race, raising his Career high total to 18, and is now the All-Time League leader in Hat Tricks with 6 after this stellar performance. Not to be lost in the dominance of
Tyler and the action packed rest of the field,
Logan once again had a stellar race and is just on fire since joining the League. With his runner up performance this evening, that makes 2 1st place finishes and 2 2nd place finishes to start his career off. Like
Tyler,
Logan held his position off of the light and never looked back. As throughout the race, we had Top 5 battles culminate in the final few laps.
Mark M. over took
Chase to claim the final podium spot, as
Mart was able to claim the final Top 5 position from
Kyle. The Hard Charger Award for the evening goes to
Max Lewin (RiteAidKid84), who was able to overcome starting in last, and went +5 on the way to a Top 10 finish.

Kyle Spencer (KDawgHonda777) holds a 14 point lead over

The Team Championship standings are now locked in up top. Congratulations to
Apex Motorsports (Tyler and Kyle) on the Season 9 Team Championship. They have secured the title no matter what happens over the final 2 races. Strong performances and wins by both drivers made
Apex the force to be reckoned with this Season. Also congratulations to
