Welcome to Round 1!

Welcome to the 2nd season of the PRL Club Sport GT4 American Monday Night Series. From your Organizers perspective, our hope is that the series will continue to grow exponentially as we evolve as a league and a racing community. So strap yourself in and tighten those safety belts... it's gonna be a heck of a ride!!!

Now, down to housekeeping business and the PRE-RACE NOTES.

Racing at Brands Hatch
You either are going to love Brands Hatch or you are going to hate it. Brands is the type of short circuit that plays favorites to no one. With its sweeping elevation changes and off-camber turns, this venue is likely to either make you or break you as a virtual racing driver. Brands Hatch is a fast paced, semi-technical track with six right handers and three left handed turns that will absolutely test your ability to drive on the edge in an effort to maintain a fast pace and challenges your ability to remain consistent. With one long true straight and a long right-handed bended sweeper leading up to the start/finish line, there is ample room for overtaking and seriously close racing. Lap 1/ Turn 1 is almost always an area of contention during the race starts. This is your reminder that "you are to give each other plenty of room to race heading into turn 1 at the commencement of the race session." Equally, going into turns two and three can cause havoc amongst drivers who take a too aggressive driving posture and can cause wrecks. Again, we caution you to give each other ample space to race, do not cut anyone off and DO NOT PINCH anyone to the inside our outside of the racing surface. This will only lead to accidents!!!

The end of the long straight heading into turn 5 is a great overtaking opportunity if you have a good run on the car in front of you. It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver to complete the pass without incident. It is equally the responsibility of the driver being overtaken "not to block" as this is a protestable offense and can lead to being awarded penalty points. Let's keep it clean and courteous out there guys.

The 2nd sector of the track is quite challenging. Stay focused on your race line and don't get caught out there on the grass. It will be very difficult to rejoin the racing surface because of the elevation changes and slipperiness of the grass and gravel surfaces.

Pit entry at Brands is a semi-straight forward affair. If you are pitting in and have someone directly behind you, you may consider announcing your intentions as you will probably come out of the last corner at a lower rate of speed. If someone is attempting an overtake coming out of the last turn and you go into pit, that could cause some serious havoc. Also remember that you cannot cross too far over the white separator line on pit entry. And as you exit the pits, remember that you cannot run over the white pit exit line or you will receive a stop and go penalty. Also, you will get deposited right into the turn 1 apex racing line so it is your responsibility to know if there is approaching traffic and the approaching traffic on track should be well aware of anyone exiting the pits. Give room and be courteous!!!

Reminder that there is 1 fast repair per race in this series!!!

Race Broadcast
This season, we will have a number of the races broadcast live on the GSRC YouTube channel. You can check this link for details once they are posted. As such, we fully expect that your behavior on track is representative of this league and what it stands for. This is your opportunity to shine in front of hundreds of viewers and showcase yourself as that great and talented driver that you are. We want to put on a great show for all viewers of the series so that they will keep coming back. It's also an opportunity for us as a league to recruit new talent into our ranks. So go and race your best out there and know that the broadcasters could be watching you at any given point.   :) ;)

Final Thoughts
As your organizers, we sincerely hope that you have a great time racing with the Precision Racing League this season and encourage you to tell your sim racing friends about us. Invite your friends and family to watch our live broadcasts too. That is all for now. Best of luck to each of you.

Just a reminder that fuel will be limited to 33% to force a pit stop. Tires are optional and we have no fast repairs. In the Porsche, 33% is enough for about 30 minutes. Keep in mind that this is not just a starting limit. You cannot fill over 33% during a stop either, so if you stop before the 15 minute mark, you may not have enough to finish without stopping again.

Edit: I was wrong. We do have 1 fast repair.

Did we do that last season? I thought that was just for the open wheel series. LOL!

Race Day!!!

Ok gang lets first and foremost put on a good show tonight!!!! With all that keep in mind we have a bunch of new drivers running with us, so let’s give space, learn each other a bit before we decide to go door to door lap 1 turn 1! Please please please, do not be the lap one hero, it’s a 45min event, and i 100% promise you the race can’t be won on lap one, especially turn one. Take it easy for a lap or two and get heat in them tires before you send her. I look forward to seeing everyone tonight, glad to be back racing after our time off, have fun tonight and enjoy!!!!

PS-please remember the car you select tonight is your car for the season, make sure you make the correct car selection. If you pick the wrong car it is not reversible!

Looking forward to this league. I am torn between cars at this point. I’ll be spending some time today trying to pinpoint which one I choose to drive.

I see Watkins race 2 is announced on GSRC. Is Brands Hatch streamed?

We have 7 out of 10 races being broadcasted, I don’t think tonight is because I don’t see a link available on GSRC. Jerome might be able to shed some light on which weeks have the broadcast?

Good job tonight gang! I did see some slight contact take place, so let’s keep working on cleaning that up best we can 👍

Also if ya spin a guy, make a mistake and cause an issue, try to own it. An apology goes a long way, and might be enough to save you from getting a protest. I would also like to say in the future please refrain from calling people out publicly in the lobby text, or lobby chat. Please use the forum and discuss your differences in a PM, if it cannot be worked out there, please feel free to use the protest process, thank you from the Monday night organizers team👍

I would like to sincerely apologize to Jorge A Flores (SRTeSport Green) in our accident. It was a completely unnecessary move on my part. Totally my fault. I sent him a message, but just want to make it here too. See you guys next week :)

Thanks everyone!

I am quoting Mark because I need every driver in this division to re-read his message. I won't word it as nicely - if you want to call someone out and be nasty, find somewhere else. What I saw in the public chat tonight will not happen again. If it does, somebody is going to be finding a new league to race in for the next 50 years. Not tolerating any forms of verbal abuse. If you can't control your emotions, how can you be expected to control a pig of a car like a GT4?

You have all been warned. Play nice, or I'll be happy to fill the quota.

Are we allowed to make here "after race talk" - like posts?

I hope so, if not, delete it :D

First of all, thank you for letting completely new people to this league start without any problems! :) It was so much fun!! :)

Sorry to the Porsche whom I gave way to less space in lap 1, turn 5! For my luck, only I spun and I hope you did not have much damage. And sorry if you got a few X because of that. I was just a few centimetres too tight. (I don´t know exactly who it was yet)

Also, I am not new to league races, but I never had so less fear in overtaking someone as I had here! You are great drivers! At least all of you, I was competing against. :D

One last word, English is not my mother tounge, and my posts will have some mistakes (especially grammar). I will never be angry or pissed if somebody corrects me, I want to get better with every post! :)

We love these kinds of posts, Martin. We encourage all of you to talk about the upcoming race in that race's thread, or to chat about the last race like you are doing here. We only ask that we keep it civilized. No naming and shaming, for instance. If anyone has an issue with someone, please talk to them in PMs, or feel free to file a protest. As Mark said, apologies go a long way. So thanks for being man enough to own your mistake. The more we chat in the forums, the more we get to know each other and the more fun this league becomes.

Everyone needs to keep in mind that you will be racing each other every week. Having a "screw everyone else" attitude will likely cause you trouble at some point. However, if you treat each other with respect, that respect will usually be returned. You never know when you might need a little help from a fellow driver, and your past actions will often decide whether you get it or not.

There are no prizes, guys. We race for the fun of it, so make it fun!
