You appear to be a gear nerd as well!! Very nice!

What are you running for the gear display above your wheel?

It's DIY (2.8 Nextion TFT LCD display connected to Arduino nano v3 and using SimHUB)

I thought it might be. Simhub is incredibly powerful software that I am starting to get into and play with. Nice work!

I have thevtriples for broadcasting races. I rave in VR but keep the one screen in front for telemetry. Quick peaks.

PC is an 8600k/Gtx 1080
Wheel is an OSW
Pedals Heusinkveld Pro Pedals
Various Rims not shown.

And two currently in route.   Made by a polish builder.  The d shaped wheel is being replaced with the fake eBay wheel in the picture (oval).  Even though an oval raver I’m excited about the F1 rim.

Wow, lots of envy going on after going through this thread. Very nice rigs, guys!

I'm currently running an Alienware Aurora R7 with an i7 8700 and a GTX1080. I have a G29 wheel, pedals, and shifter mounted to a Wheelstand Pro. I switched to racing on VR on an Oculus a couple months ago and haven't gone back to a monitor since. I thought about going with triples, but the immersion of VR is just too cool, even with the reduced resolution and I'm lucky enough that my computer can handle fairly good settings. I'd post pics but it's not like none of you have seen a G29 before. LOL

Speaking of which, I'm thinking about upgrading my wheel and pedals in the not TOO distant future. Right now I'm really leaning towards a Fanatec Clubsport setup. I'm almost positive I'm going to go with the V3 pedals, possibly inverted, and I really like their shifter. The ability to go from H-pattern to sequential with the flick of a switch is pretty damned cool. I'm not entirely sure about the wheel though. From what I've read, the Clubsport v2.5 is a very solid wheelbase, and they definitely make some nice rims, but I'm wondering if I should just save a little more and go with a direct drive like an OSW. Anybody have first hand experience? Wheel strength doesn't matter to me. No one plays with them cranked up, so what's the point? It basically comes down to smoothness, feel, and accuracy. Is DD really worth the money and the issues with support that I've read about?

Need a little advice.
I currently have I7 minicomputer:
I7-4785T (2.2 GHz)
SSD
4GB DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4600

It's a fast enough computer for most things, solid state drive I7, but only onboard video. I run Iracing with pretty much near the lowest graphics settings and get about 35-40 FPS.

I can get a computer from work:
I5-4570 (3.2 GHz)
Standard HD
4GB DDR3
NVIDIA Gefore 210

Question is even though I'm downgrading from an I7 to an I5, and from a SSD to a regular HD, Will the PC be better for Iracing due to having a video card in it?
I can also upgrade the memory and video card, to 8GB DDR3, and to  4GB Geforec 1050, but it will cost about $300?

Owen, are you telling me you run on the lowest settings, get 35-40 FPS, and are still faster than me?  Get out.  You are depressing me!

I would ask Tyler to chime in too, he is my tech guru.  IMHO the faster clock speed should benefit you on that i5, even if it is not an i7, I don't think iRacing utilizes the extra cores very well.  SSD is auxiliary for load times I believe, a spinner should do fine.  The video card would likely be an upgrade too, but doubling up the RAM is probably a good idea.  Keep an eye out for a sale on a older video card maybe and upgrade it a bit in the future?  If it was me I would go for it, on-board graphics sound awful!

But seriously, get outta here you run at 35 FPS and get around the track that fast.  BWOAH... itsnothesameforeverybody

Matt is bang on... For once. Clock speed will help, but a discrete graphics card will make a huge difference. PM me. I have some cards kicking around that I could gift you...

Yeah I'm so used to the low settings I have been dragging my feet upgrading. But everytime I see the replays from you guys I realize how much I'm missing, I figure it's time to finally but the bullet.

Awesome thanks Tyler!

I picked up the "old" Sim racing garage rig.  Added an OSW wheel and HPP pedals.  Built the pc last summer has a 1060ti vid card dont recall processor specs and I run the Oculus rift.
