Race Length: 134 Laps (Stage 1 - 35 Laps... Stage 2 - 99 Laps)
Race Name in Game: Quaker State 400

***Pre-Race Interview***
1. Kentucky on the docket this week. How do you like this track compared to the other 1.5 mile D-Ovals?

2. Lots of different opinions about how the stages effected the real Sonoma race and how the field got jumbled up after each segment due to short pitters. Do you see it as part of the game or should they look at handling the stages differently at road courses so the leaders are not at a disadvantage?

3. Week off next week for the 4th of July. What will be on the menu?

To be honest I am not a big fan of this track because of the bumps on entry of turn 1.

We have seen how races come out to be and sometimes they are just who has the best strategy. It can be either pit strategy, fuel strategy, or even tire strategy. I believe the stages have some sort of effect but the drivers knew that they have a chance of being at a disadvantage.

3. Week off next week for the 4th of July. What will be on the menu?

Hamburgers or cheese
Hot Dogs
Chicken
Wings
Salad's (Macaroni) (Potato)
Ribs
No Beer just some Coca Cola

I actually like Kentucky on this game, not as much as some others but I don't despise it either. I know the bumps are a trouble spot, but that's what separates the men from the boys. I really wish I was able to race this weekend, but I am glad that I am getting to see my girlfriend for the first time in 8 weeks. I will see you all at New Hampshire.

I liked the stages and no matter what Nascar does to make them less of a disadvantage to the leader it is always going to be a disadvantage to be the leader, unless you get rid of stages at Road courses, from what I seen most people hated the fact that Harvick won by 8 seconds and that the ending was boring from the same crowd that wishes it was the 1980s when drivers literally won races by laps. I blame the boring ending and Harvick's big lead on the fact that a lot of cars had damage. I thought it was nice to see a race play out and have cars spinning without a caution being thrown.

3. Week off next week for the 4th of July. What will be on the menu?

For the 4th Steak (medium rare), Eggs, Toast, Hashbrowns, probably followed by some apple pie and ice cream, and fireworks. After that I have a final exam on the 6th for my summer class. Then I'll live up Thursday and/or Friday night to mark the official start to my summer break.

I really enjoy Kentucky and I have a full set up that runs the high line through 1/2 like a gem. Finding a pit only adjustment that handles the same might be tricky. I'm just looking for something that can get me into the Top5 and end this crappy skid I have been on across all leagues.

The stages have made for better racing this year, but the short pitting on Sunday right before the stage for everyone outside of the Top 10 really did jumble it all up and seemed to be the biggest reason for the increase in contact than we are used to seeing. If Watkins Glen turns out to be the same, they may need to look to when they close the pits before the end of the segment.

3. Week off next week for the 4th of July. What will be on the menu?
My dad, bro-in-law and I have a grill off every year. This year will be a slab of ribs. Thinking of going with a cyanne, brown sugar, and garlic for the rub. Side will be bacon wrapped, cream chesse stuffed jalapenos that i will smoke.

I always have a lot of fun racing on this track. I don't think I am particularly fast, but hope to have a top 10 car. I am also predicting longer green flag runs here, as the track is wide enough to run beside another car and leave plenty of room.

I think it was fun to see the different strategies. It's only 2 and I guess 3 tracks next season that it is even an issue. It is fun seeing fast cars work their way back through the field. I guess they could look at making it like closed 5 laps before stage, but I think even then you'd have people changing it up.

We don't really have any plans at this time. I'll likely grill up some barbecue chicken, corn on the cob and bush's baked beans.

Q: 7th
I was hitting low .8s in practice, so thought I could start up close to the front. I never did find a grove and the little changes I made to my set up didn't help. Little disappointed with my result, but there were some pretty good laps being put down by the field in quali, was pretty awesome to see 1 thru 10 only separated by .108 secs

R: 1st
Was up front the whole first stage, but my tires gave out on the last green sprint and I lost all bonus points and fell back to 9th. I started in 10th after the stage pit stop, and had to race my way up from there. My car was pretty solid on a full run. I didn't know if we were going to go green or not the whole way, but I planned my pits if we did. I didn't worry about fuel saving to make it a 2 stop instead of 3, and just chopped the race up into 25 lap stints. The 2nd to last stint, I literally made a .25 lbs change to my RR and I gave up all of the time I made to CJ and Zeke when the car fell apart at the end. I reversed that change and my car was hooked up on the final run. Sorry to CJ and Zeke having bad luck on their final stops.

Q:5th

Had a decent qualifying run, posted a high 8 early to get me in the top 5 which I was happy with.

R:4th

It's a solid finish, being top 5 and all and keeping the points lead heading into the last break of the season but I could have had more. A little upsetting. My car really clicked in and I was locked in about midway through the race, I was posting consistent low 8s and I felt fast. I believe I was in 5th or 6th at the point and I could see the seconds shaving off the leader. I made a pit stop and tried to make a slight change(RR up a pound) and it messed me all up. With there being no more cautions after that stop it really ended my chances at a win. Towards the end of the race I got a little lag from Kyle while running behind him that sent me sideways and there went my shot at a 1, 2 finish with hoot. I had 3rd exiting 4 but my car wouldn't budge even though I was going 150 and it ran up the wall allowing Kdawg to pass.
