Attention all drivers:

[ul]
[li]There will be a pre-race meeting in Discord at 8:30pm. This meeting is mandatory to race and everyone needs to be in Discord for the race anyways. We will discuss all rules, address race structure and on track behaviors, and I will answer any questions you may have.[/li]
[li]We have a wait list since over 40 drivers have signed up. The bold black line visible between Jason and Steven is the cutoff. The drivers listed below Jason are not guaranteed a spot, so please do not join in the race session until instructed to do so by me.[/li]
[li]With that, full time drivers, please communicate your attendance in these race threads if you are going to miss the race so we can let the wait list drivers know in advance. 2 no shows will result in a loss of your full-time seat. Also please communicate if you might be late as well. If at 8:45pm Eastern a full time driver has not shown up and does not communicate why, a wait listed driver may be given your spot at that time.[/li]
[li]Please double check your car number before joining the race session and make sure you have the number you signed up with. There will be a point penalty for those who are not in the right number.[/li]
[/ul]
Let's all get some practice races in under our belts this week and come prepared to put on a great show for the first Sunday broadcast. I will be harsh on those who show up unprepared and show to be the cause of many on track issues/cautions.

Will the setup being used be available for practice or not until race day?

For anyone with an A license, the official lobby is the best place to practice since we try to time up our race time to match the schedule.

Those without an A license, you can test it in solo mode and just select the default Michigan setup provided. Make sure your session time is accurate.

Noon is the session start time meaning that’s when the 3 hour practice session starts. If you want to practice for race conditions, select “afternoon” for this race

Pre-Race Interview

1. This is our first season in the Cup cars. Do you like this package or last years package better?

2. What is the main reason you joined the league, the Cup cars specifically or the broadcasting without a fee?

3. If there was an open set up league, would you want 45-50 min races still or would you like to see longer races to get the most out if setups (75-90)?

1. I never really raced much of the old package but this one is a blast

2. I joined the Wednesday series about a year and a half ago and loved it and then joined the Sunday series a year ago so it’s just to have more fun with my friends

3. For me personally, it would depend on a bunch of factors

1. I'm relatively new to Iracing so I did not race with the old package much.  I like the new one.
2. This is my third season for Sunday.  Even though I'm the slowest, I enjoy the clean racing with predictable drivers.  I also like the amusing banter among the regulars.
3. On Sundays I would go 75 to 90 minutes and I'd get a paid subscription to VRS for a setup.

1. I'm not the biggest fan of pack racing at all, but this car is pretty fun on short tracks. I'd love to see how it goes on a full fuel run on intermediate tracks and how the car really handles with tire wear, but I have yet to be in a race that goes that long.

2. The change in car away from Xfinity got me excited. The broadcasting was an added bonus.

3. As you can guess since I made the question, I'm a 75-90 minute kind of man lol

1. New package makes racing closer and more exciting, but old package shows more driving skill and brains.
2. I been sim racing for years and never done a league due to military. Now i have more time, i wanted to try it. Found the forum ad and saw this league feels like what im looking for. Cup cars and tracks, Good, clean, but fun racing, and official. Im impressed already with the quality i have seen.
3. Im still learning the setup factors, so i would be slower for sure unless someone was willing to share setups, but im good with whatever the rules state.

1. Unsure of difference, wasn't around for last package.

2. The clean, competitive, official atmosphere is what first interested me. Learning this was a free series sold it.

3. 60-90 minutes would be awesome, though open setups would cause me more issues making a 90 minute race extremely grueling if not impossible. I am interested in learning about setups and telemetry so I'd still accept the challenge.

1. Never raced the old package but have heard good things about the new, excited to race it.

2. I joined the PRL for the PS4 F1 league a year ago. Made quite a few friends through there that led me to the Project Cars 2 league. Was eventually talked into iRacing and it's been awesome ever since (and a money pit :D). Looking forward to competitive and clean racing with great people.

3. I'm all for longer races and like the default setup aspect as I feel it makes everyone more competitive and you still need to be talented to make your way to the front.

Organizers/Managers, FYI I'll be missing this week

1. I like it just not sure I have speed yet, I conserve in all races and havent had a chance to really push it.

2. I do better in cars as opposed to trucks, so wanted to try these.

3. Not sure the extra time would change much, I like to conserve so maybe it would help me, but I think at 45 min.  What's done is done, an extra 25 minutes so Brad or JR can lap more guys?

1. I like the new package. Keeps the racing tight and more emphasis on the driver IMO.

2. I’ve watched a few races online and like the free to race, broadcast and fixed setup. I’m a teacher/coach so I don’t get a lot of time to work on setups.

3. I think if I were to spend time on my setup I would want the longer races. People can make a great shirt run setup, but not everyone can keep their cars together on longer runs.

1: I dont like being wide open at every 1.5 miler.
2: I was looking for a fixed cup league. Found you guys on the iracing forums
3:  I would much rather have laps end the race than time. But 90 minute races offer much more strategy.
