Pre-race Questions by danirox88!

1. What are your aims and goals for this race?
2. If you had to predict the podium finishers, who do you think will finish 1, 2 and 3?
3. What are you thoughts on the new game? What do you like or dislike about it? Are there improvements from the last game?
4. Do you race with a wheel (if so what type) or a controller (if so the standard controller or a different one)?

Pre-race questions have been added to the main post, please feel free to answer them :)

1. My goal for this race will be to try and see where I stand 'pacewise' with everyone and to do my best.

2. I think the podium finishers will be El_Majacko, Mightymurph and HSVDT, I haven't really seen anyone else's pace yet so I'm sure I could be wrong!

3. I like the new game compared to the last one, I find I can drive smoother and it at least feels like I'm going faster :p. I don't really like having to initiate the pit limiter and I keep forgetting to turn it off.

4. I use a Logitech G29 wheel.

1. What are your aims and goals for this race?
Acclimatize to the Sauber and the game in general.
2. If you had to predict the podium finishers, who do you think will finish 1, 2 and 3?
This is a real tough one as I haven't seen anyone's pace yet. I'll guess dani, murph and dregs!
3. What are you thoughts on the new game? What do you like or dislike about it? Are there improvements from the last game?
I'm underwhelmed by the new game, possibly because 2016 was so damn good. I like the big old T-Wings though! I don't like the width of tyres and feel the graphics are a bit washed out. The handling model doesn't really suit me and seems inconsistent. There are of course all the bugs, but we all know them.
4. Do you race with a wheel (if so what type) or a controller (if so the standard controller or a different one)?
A race with a standard controller, but will swap to another standard controller which is stiffer for Monaco.

1. As people have previously mentioned, I will just be looking to get an idea of who's quick and what the standard pace is like on the new game.

2. 1st 🏆kidbyers, 2nd 🥈Alex, and I'll give 3rd to dani at her home race 🏁🇮🇹 Ciao

3. This game is definitely a step up from 2016, the feeling and sensation of speed is so much greater and you feel like you can push the new cars to the absolute limit  plus the classics, seeing and hearing the F2002 brings back so many memories of the glory days of F1.

4. I also use a Logitech G29 wheel.

See you all on Wednesday night.

1. My aim is to get the most out of the car and see where I stand in the pecking order, which I'm hoping is at the front.
2. Not going to predict the order of the Top 3, but I think it will feature Jacko, myself and one of the Ferrari boys.
3. Like what Jacko said, the game in its current state feels underwhelming compared to 2016. Haven't enjoyed playing it yet but hopefully league racing can bring some excitement into the game, like it did for me in 2015 and towards the end of 2016.
4. The incredibly high-tech and complex Dualshock 4.

Hey Guys, looking forward to racing with you guys but I'm not sure I can tonight because I still haven't got the game!

I ordered it from ozgameshop express post last tuesday but I still haven't got it :(

Hopefully I'm not too far off the pace once I get playing, might have to ask for some setups lol

Sorry guys!

If the game comes today I'll try and get setup in time!

Well that was a decent pre-season event. A good turnout given we had 4 people not able to race this week.

Q: 3rd
A great lap by HSV for pole. I was too concerned about getting a valid lap in to push to my full potential.

R: 1st
Got a great start to take the lead early on. An epic duel between myself and the two Ferraris followed, in which we each incurred the wrath of the track limits. Luckily I didn't accrue to many penalties and by the end I crossed the line 2 or 3 seconds ahead after a one stop.

Looking forward to next week.

Q: 6th
Not too happy with the lap, good lap by HSV though.

R: 6th
What a race. Made up a position on Kart at the start but ended up losing that ground when I almost ran into BK at the second chicane and decided to go off the track instead. Then I caught back up to the pack, I think BK had an incident and so he was behind me leading into the back straight. So there we are, having a lovely time with our DRS open and being up with the pack, everything is dandy. BAM! I'm flying through the air! I somehow land back on the ground with the only damage being my front wing, I thought for sure I was a goner! So I hobble back to the pits, wait in torture while Sauber work out how to fit a front wing, and make my way out in last. Went for fastest lap towards the end but got pipped by Kartdude but it came at a price for him as he ran out of fuel and I pipped him for 6th.

Look forward to seeing everyone next week, can only do better hopefully!

Q: 1st

Pretty happy with my lap, could have gone marginally quicker though. Murph was very close behind.

R: 2nd

Had a good initial launch, but mishifted out of Turn 2, surrendering the lead to Majacko. We traded places for a while before Murph passed him and slowed them both down. I build a small lead before stopping, and the battle resumed after Majacko put in a run of fast laps. The three of us duelled all race until I damaged my wing on the back of Majacko's car. From there he was able to pull away as my damage slowed myself and Murph down. I eventually crossed the line 2.3 seconds behind

I thoroughly enjoyed tonight's race, especially the battles with the two guys mentioned. Roll on pre-seasons race 2!

Q: 5th, was not the best lap, but made a few mistakes and was not aware of the strict corner cuttings rules, oops. But a fantastic lap by Dean regardless and would have been hard to top.

Race. 7th thought i got an okay start but was passed by Dani and was quickly under pressure from the cars around me. Managed to get past Dani after she made and error, and chased down the top 4, till they battled and caused me to hit a slow BK and lost part of my wing, I knew from there, I would have a difficult time catching up without a safety car. So I tried, but I just honestly don't think I had the pace of the top 3, so credit to them, and also appeared I would have been on the wrong strategy anyway. Later in the race traded with Dani for the fastest lap but paid the price and ran out of fuel.

In all, was a good race and probably learnt more from coming 7th then I would of being top 3 thinking everything was all good  :?:

Q - Last
Went out on softs to get acclimatised to the track, then went for another run on super softs and was on for a mid to late 1:21 before binning it at the last corner.

R - started poorly on old softs, spun on lap 1 then played a bit of catch up before pitting for fresh super sorts, was happy with my pace and actually set a 1:24.1 as the fastest lap early on before losing the back end out of ascari i think it was and retiring.

I know it's sounds weird having crashed out in both qualifying and the race, but I feel that I got a good idea of the pace that's required on this new game and there were still some positivites to take out of it all. Looking forward to seeing you all again next week 🏁

Q: 4th

I feel I wasn't able to get the best lap in that I could but being on the second row and beating Brodie was good enough for me.

R: 5th

Sat behind Jacko and the Ferrari boys as they had a mad scrap for 1st. Jacko and HSV made an error so I tried to move up some positions at Ascari. Got hit slightly by Kartdude (fitting that 2 Force India's collide isn't it?) and dropped to almost last. Began to push my way back through the field but Dani's car lagged into mine which took us both out. Drove lonely for the rest of the race to finish 5th.
