Toto Wolff has allowed me to take the pre-season event off, as I'm traveling to see my grandmother interstate on the same weekend. Mercedes pre-season data will be accrued by Dubzzy alone unfortunately. Happy testing!

Well then looks like not much data will be taken then  I kid I kid...looking forward to having a battle with the mercedes pair and the 2 nicks. very solid teams that will for sure be right in the mix of the constructors fight. Hope you enjoy your visit!

Sorry for that turn one crap. I ran it way too hot and didn't get on the brakes nearly fast enough. figured I would just downshift as fast as possible and cut the corner as much as possible to try and avoid as many people as I could. I did see a gap between the lead pack of the cars and aimed for that. I almost cleared all of you.

porq_chopz what kind of move was that you didn't even brake that was a bonehead move just don't do that in the real race that would cost you points from the stewards and maybe removed from the league. ik it was preseason bud but I don't wont that to happen again your a good driver and im not arguing with you or giving you a hard time I just want to help you succeed. also don't feel too bad about it we all did the same thing you did in the past including myself when I was a rookie lol.  it happens bud but good race to you and everyone

I know. Like I said. I ran in there WAY too hot and instead of slamming into the back of guys I thought I would just cut way down, and do my best to slow it down. It was my mistake the whole way as I'm not deflecting blame on it at all. Once cutting the corner I saw a gap between the lead group and tried to just go through there and avoid as many people as I could. Honestly, considering how bad it COULD have been for so many, I tried my best to avoid hitting as many as I could. Trust me. That kinda thing doesn't usually happen with me. I'm usually really patient at the start. This was just an anomaly

Don't care if it was just a preseason race, I am happy with that ride last night. Definitely the smoothest I have been so far in the league. I know towards the end of last season I was focused on the championship fight I was involved with in Nascar and I hardly practiced F1 at all, so I am definitely looking to make a better impression this season. I know my 6th really would have been 9th or 10th with the lead pack drivers who missed the race last night, but it still would have been a point or 2 :)

And Porq, that really should have been a 6 or 7 cars pile up. Luckily your car ghosted after the first car you hit, cause I saw like 5 more cars drive right through you. I know there was some first race jitters, so just stay cool my man. You had a couple different really deep drives into turns, I am really shocked the nose stayed on your car.

And I wont post my whole race since it is nothing special, but here is a snippet of Bubba throwing some bottle rockets at me:

Happy with a podium after a tough qualifying and getting a damaged wing after the first lap shenanigans due to a domino effect.  Had a tough battle with Brian for the first stint as we both had damaged wings and we made contact in the last corner, so I felt obligated to give the place back because due to lack of downforce my car would not hold the inside line.

From there on it was about managing the damaged wing because I really only wanted to stop twice and it paid off.  I think my race pace was also better on the harder compounds which let me gain positions up to P3.

See you guys next week for the first week!
