I was just wondering if thought has been given to running a Porsche Cup series or perhaps two, one fixed and one open?

We ran a Porsche Cup series in 2022S1 I believe it was, and unfortunately it really suffered from participation.
We can certainly throw it into our hat of discussion for each season though, of course!

Given the quality of drivers in PRL, it's somewhat surprising participation was poor but I suppose it isn't much different from the open lobby series'. It doesn't seem worthy of consideration right now but maybe that will change in the future.

I was mainly asking because being a back of pack GT4 driver, I'm thinking of taking a break from that and doing some Porsche Cup car driving for a season. My hope is that it would help me improve my overall ability and get me more comfortable driving closer to the edge.

That would likely help when getting back in the Cayman as I know I'm not pushing it's capability at all. While the Cayman has been terrible this season and desperately needs a BOP adjustment, I know I have substantial room for improvement and that's by far the biggest reason for my lack of competitiveness.

Given I've enjoyed the two seasons of PRL that I've done, I could definitely see doing a fixed Porsche Cup series.

And watching the top drivers in GT4 over these seasons, jeez, to have them battling it out on a Racespot broadcast would be a must watch!

I think you are taking it wrong! Driving a faster car to help you improve? I don't think it's a good idea hehe. I rather suggest you to stick with the GT4 until you master it! The GT4 cars are a very good entry level and also very good "learning" class!

If you want to improve, there is also driver coaching ;) We are actually offering driver coaching at PRL! You can find more information in the #driver-coahcing-info channel of our Discord :)
