Hey guys,

The management team of the Sunday Series have had a meeting last Sunday about the future of the series. One of the main subject of the meeting was about the fact that we have too many cautious per race mainly due to driver driving over aggressively. One of the suggestion that came on the table during the meeting was to open the setup for next season. We know that in some case, the iRacing Default Setup feel very loose and maybe we could avoid a lot of spin if the drivers are racing a setup they are comfortable with. I think everyone will agree that not only the fastest driver win races, but also consistent driver.

Resulting that meeting, we want to know if you would be interested to have a race open this season, and we have selected Texas Motor Speedway.

Recommended apps for setup: iRacing Setup Sync

Feel free to comment!

Personally, I vote yes, it could be really good test!

I think open setups would definitely make having a team mate more important.

Texas is a difficult cookie cutter that can definitely abuse the best drivers, so its a good choice.

Fixed setup either tightened up or loosened up with tire pressures or wedge. Use motec or vrs to drop your splitter to the road. That's it. The rest is driver ability

Also another thought I had.

With open setup a 100% fuel limit should be used so we can test and create a setup in private testing. This can also call for a longer race if wanted.

We have talked about race length and we think it's perfect like that. We are using 60% fuel, so it's easily calculable in a private testing session :)

Have y'all thought of adding a second oval league next season. Could do a fixed and open league. We seem to have a lot of people sign up for the one season. Can cut field size down some too which will help with some racing issues. Just a thought.

Not sure about that... More league = more commitment and more work. And if we are going with 2 divisions/leagues, we will at some point have only 15 drivers and maybe less per race. It's not what we are looking for. Also, it's the summer season that coming up, so people are less racing. We gonna have a big hype again this autumn.

If we do this I would commit full time to the second series, as in I would run it

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing the fixed trucks back. Seasons 2&3 were a blast. This way the serious racers can do there open racing while us that are in the league that aren't that great or don't have time to try to build or find setups or just not a lot of time in our personal life's to be competitive in a open series still have a chance to race with the league.

Don't forget guys that I'm pretty sure that with the group of guy we have here, I'm pretty sure almost everyone will share their setup.

Since the Indycar Oval Series on Wednesday night isn't going well, maybe we will have a open spot on Wednesday

Nope because practices are mandatory now. Haven't you got the email about that!?

Also, next season, the 2 hours practice will be added to the official league session.

i meant we could do it during the practice at the same time

Yes I understand, but I don't want because if we are creating a second oval series, members might be interested in doing both series, and it's mandatiry to be at one of both 2 hours practice hosted by PRL. And if we are expanding to another oval series, we will also have a mandatory practice. But we will see first if we are expanding, and the management team will talk about it later.
