Team PRL (Jerome Berthiaume, Dany Duchesne, Carsten Quint, Kerlan Andrew and more) have a fair amount of endurance races of experience and we would like to share some tips to you. We are not the fastest team, but we have build a solid core group which allow us to win the 12h of Sebring in 2017 (Division 6)! Feel free to share your experience here and to comment!

[ul]
[li]Host practice sessions to practice with your team and with everyone who signup. Practice is the key![/li]
[li]Test your setup with long run.[/li]
[li]Test stint duration and build a schedule with your team. i.e.: 10h am to 12h pm (Jerome) / 12h pm to 2 pm (Dany), etc...[/li]
[li]Calculate the pitstop time.[/li]
[li]Evaluate if it worth to change tires at every stop or not.[/li]
[li]Endurance races are exhausting! Avoid to make too long stint for better consistency. 4 hours maximum.[/li]
[li]You must keep your car clean! Use the setup in which the team is more comfortable. Being consistent is more rewarding than being fast![/li]
[li]NEVER GIVE UP! Even if you crash, get your car repaired. Even if you ended up 3 laps down, if there is still more than a hour to race, you can gain some spot![/li]
[li]Respect the blue flag, this is VERY IMPORTANT in endurance race.[/li]
[li]Adjust the tire pressure depending on the track & weather condition.[/li]
[li]Drink a lot of water when you pit![/li]
[/ul]
Have fun!

You know people are going to be taking advantage of the bus stop then.
I also noticed 1 guy driving on the apron every lap last night.

Thx Garry.  We will make sure that we will take Care of those who use the apron

Perfect!

I saw the same, people taking advantage in the bus stop. Glad to read that.

If I see one doing this, there will be only 1 warning.  Then KICK

I will be watching while not driving!

We will need to discuss this in the pre-race drivers meeting.

I understand that purposely taking advantage of it is wrong, but it is not hard to overshoot that. I personally miss that turn from time to time. That turn does hand out slow down penalties if you cut it too much.

And I think any team that runs a lap in the radical under 1.42 should be investigated for running an illegal setup!

The odd cut is acceptable, it happens. But intentionally doing it will be dealt with. I don't think we will see this kind of behaviour in the race.

I guess it happends to all, but if you dont take advantage (for example passing the front car) then (I think) there is no problem.

Chicos,

I need to know what is the virtual start date/time and the acceleration time factor (2X will be great!!!)

Looks like it is 1x. Starting in the morning and following the day as is, so we wouldn't see night til around 6pm est.

Classic endurance racing heartbreak. We've all been there. Won't be the last time either!

Wow, what a blast. I'm an oval guy. I basically suck at road racing, but this month I've gotten so much better with all of the practice I did with the team for this race. We did it! We finished! Eddie, Dustin, and Chris were awesome and we all worked well together to call strategy, pump each other up, and watch for spins and upcoming cars. I want to run more road races like this. Thank you PRL for putting this on. Time for a nice night's sleep. I think we all need it.
