Our intention is to ensure that all drivers experience fair and competitive racing. So, approaching the season start, and based on signups and final Strength of Field we may split the series into two divisions: AM and PRO.
And because iRating isn't the final say on race-craft & pace, we reserve the right to shuffle drivers between AM & PRO divisions based on a metric calculated from both qualifying and race pace. We typically do this after two or three rounds if we see that an AM driver is consistently competing with PRO drivers, or if a PRO driver is consistently keeping pace with the AM drivers. In the event that this applies to you, a PRL staff member will reach out to you directly, before the shuffle. We understand that being shuffled from one division to another isn't always popular, but the intention is to create fair & competitive racing to be enjoyed by drivers and broadcast viewers alike.
If we do indeed run with two divisions, driver's names in the iRacing League Roster will be prefixed with a tag of either [PRO] or [AM] to enable everyone to easily identify AM & PRO drivers in the race and in the broadcast.
AM & PRO Drivers will be competing in separate Drivers Championships.
The teams championship will be combined, with teams of three being made up of all PRO, all AM or both PRO & AM drivers.
