INFORMATION & FAQ

When does the season start and end?
2021 Season 3 will start on June 20th and will end on August 29th. There will be a break week on July 4th.

When can I signup? Now! But note that signup will closed on June 13th.

How many races in the season? There will be 10 races in the season.

Is there any drop week? Each driver gets 1 drop week. The Season Finale race will not be allowed to count as a drop week, only Races 1-9. There is no drop week for the Team Championship as it takes the top 2 finishes out of the 3 drivers for that race.

What day/time do races start? Races are on Sunday. The session start at 6:10pm with the qualifying at 8:30pm (EDT).

How many seats are available? Number of seats will be announced on June 13th. We encourage you to signups, and you'll be refunded if you don't have a seat.

Is this championship broadcasted? Yes!!! More details in the broadcast links & information thread.

Is there any fees to signup? To help cover the cost of broadcasting, the fee will be $20 for the season (25% discount for Premium members using coupon code: PREMIUM). Once you've paid, you will be automatically added to the series registered drivers list. If you miss any races or drop out mid season, you will not be refunded any of the sign up fee you paid.

How can I register/pay? To register, you must first read the entire thread. After, you need to click on your username at the top right in the forum header and then click on Account Upgrades. You will find all the series you can sign up to, after completing the transaction you will be automatically added to that series registered drivers list.

How can I make sure I'll have a seat? Below is the seat priority for this series. It is your own responsability to follow on a daily/weekly basis the registered driver list. If you are a non-Premium member, you may be showing down the list quite fast! We strongly suggest all drivers to get a premium membership to secure their place.
  • Management staff
  • Series Organisers
  • Premium Member
  • New Driver
How can I subscribe to a Premium membership? Click here for more information about the Premium Membership!

Do I need to have a specific license, iRating or Safety Rating? It is required to have a minimum of C 2.0 license for asphalt oval races (any other discipline will only require a D 2.0). There is no restriction for iRating at this time, but may change in the future.

Can I register as part of a team? Of course! But each driver of the team must create an account on the PRL forum and register for the series.

How do I select which car I'm running? The car you will select at your first race is the one you must keep for the entire season. You will be DSQ if you join with a different car.

How are car numbers handled? Any returning league driver from the previous season has the rights to the number they used in that previous season, as long as they are signed up and pay their dues 1 week prior to the start of the season. All un-used numbers may be claimed in order of First-come, First-serve by this ranking: Premium<-Returning Driver<-New Driver. A returning driver may change their number if they wish, but fall into the order listed above by ranking. After ranking, the order is determined by sign-up order.

Can I use the paint I want? Yes, but you must respect the Racing Rules #15. Also, to support our sponsors, we may force a decal to the windshield banner of your car on the broadcast.

Can I join as a reserve or later in the season? No, we are not managing Reserve/Waiting list. We are not allowing new driver to join the series after season starts.

What is the structure of a race day?
  • Race Day: Sunday
  • Practice: 6:10pm EDT / 9:10pm GMT (140 minutes)
  • Qualifying: 8:30pm EDT / 12:30am GMT (5 minutes / 2 laps)
  • Race: 8:35pm EDT / 12:35am GMT (laps / max. 90 minutes)
Is it open or fixed setup? 2021/S3 is Open setups.

How do I join the races? When the signups will be closed (a week prior season start), you will receive an invite on iRacing to join the private league of your series. Once you have accepted the league invite, all races will be listed under "League sessions" on iRacing.

What is the schedule? We are following official iRacing NASCAR A Class Series schedule. Can be review by management.

What is the points system? The full scoring system is available in the Rules Document you will find below.

Hey - I just signed up, but noticed my preferred car # is listed as #99. I'd like to continue S3 with #28 as my preferred number. I've updated on my account but doesn't look like that updates the driver list. Not sure if it's possible to update that for me. Thanks

I don't think you have anything to worry about. They will see that Brandon had the 99 already this season and will be signing up again, so they would automatically default to your secondary number

Hey everyone. I know that little surprise with Next Gen came out of no where last night and has alot of buzz around it. From a Management standpoint, the Next Gen car will not effect S3 and what we have set. We will still use the current Gen6 car for this season and will re-evaluate the car decision in S4.

@NASCAR Cup Series 2021/S3

Hey Crew. Just wanted to thank everyone on their support of the league and the roster is almost full now for Season 3. The 40 drivers on the roster now are guaranteed in, and we will keep those final 2 spots open for the next week so we can have a full 42 car roster for the season.

I encourage everyone to re-read the league rules doc, especially new drivers. Please reach out for any questions of clarifications that you need. We have maybe a little more structure to most random leagues, which in turn we try to give ourselves the best league experience as we can to all drivers, so please give the whole document a look over (especially our penalty structure).

Here are 2 new rules from S2 that I will highlight here:
  • We will now have 4 sets of tires in the pits for the course of the race (up from 3).
  • The incident limit will still be 24x. On Road Courses only, there will be a drive-thru penalty at 12x.
For all returning drivers from S2, you are all set in the league and your numbers are still set from last season. For all new drivers, please look in your PMs in iRacing for the league invite to our specific PRL Sunday League.

Going through the roster, we have some number issues to address. So please see below and reach out to me if I declared that you need to pick a new #. Please check out the Roster Page to see what #s have been taken:
  • David Mulberry: 62 is already taken, you will have your backup choice of 29.
  • Guillaume Baril: Both 3 and27 are already taken. Please reach out to me with a new choice. (Guillaume will have the #103)
  • Michel Gagnon: 61 is already taken. Please reach out to me with a new choice. (Michel will have the #16)
  • Ryan Steele: 54 is already taken, you will have your backup choice of 52.
  • Stephen Conner: 31 is already taken, you will have your backup choice of 61.
  • Waldo Walden: Your preference of 39 is already taken. I still have you as 84 on the league page. Please let me know if you want another number.
**We do allow custom numbers to be used in our league. Your custom number however must match your assigned number. If you use an incorrect custom number and refuse to change after being asked by Management to change, you can be suspended or removed from the league. We have a lot of talented painters in our ranks, please reach out if you need assistance**

Are there still those 2 open spots? I tried to sign up but the ability to upgrade for the series was unavailable.

84 is still good for me!

However I would like to lodge a formal protest regarding the new NASCAR S3 season image on the main page of the site depicting Zemke passing me on the final corner of the final lap at COTA after I had a 14 sec gap with 4 laps to go. This is detrimental to my mental health and confidence. Its a form of psychological warfare and most be removed immediately!

😂😂😂

PS I already move to appeal the decision! Lol
