INFORMATION & FAQ

When does the season start and end?
2021 Season 2 will start on March 21st and will end on May 30th. There will be a break week on April 4th for Easter.

When can I signup? Now! But note that signup will closed on March 14th.

How many races in the season? There will be 10 races in the season.

Is there any drop week? Each driver gets 1 drop week. The Season Finale race will not be allowed to count as a drop week, only Races 1-9. There is no drop week for the Team Championship as it takes the top 2 finishes out of the 3 drivers for that race.

What day/time do races start? Races are on Sunday. The session start at 6:40pm with the qualifying at 9pm (EDT).

How many seats are available? Number of seats will be announced on March 14th. We encourage you to signups, and you'll be refunded if you don't have a seat.

Is this championship broadcasted? Yes!!! However due to prior obligations our broadcasters have, a couple of our races will not be able to be broadcasted. More details in the broadcast links thread.

Is there any fees to signup? To help cover the cost of broadcasting, the fee will be $15 for the season. Once you've paid, you will be automarically added to the series registered drivers list. If you miss any races or drop out mid season, you will not be refunded any of the sign up fees you paid.

How can I register/pay? To register, you must first read the entire thread. After, you need to click on your username at the top right in the forum header and then click on Account Upgrades. You will find all the series you can sign up to, after completing the transaction you will be automatically added to that series registered drivers list.

How can I make sure I'll have a seat? Here is the seat priority for this series:
  • Management staff
  • Series Organisers
  • Premium Member
  • New Driver
How can I subscribe to a Premium membership? Click here for more information about the Premium Membership!

Do I need to have a specific license, iRating or Safety Rating? It is required to have a minimum of C 2.0 license for asphalt oval races (any other discipline will only require a D 2.0). There is no restriction for iRating at this time, but may change in the future.

Can I register as part of a team? Of course! But each driver of the team must create an account on the PRL forum and register for the series.

How do I select which car I'm running? The car you will select at your first race is the one you must keep for the entire season. You will be DSQ if you join with a different car.

How are car numbers handled? Any returning league driver from the previous season has the rights to the number they used in that previous season, as long as they are signed up and pay their dues 1 week prior to the start of the season. All un-used numbers may be claimed in order of First-come, First-serve by this ranking: Premium<-Returning Driver<-New Driver. A returning driver may change their number if they wish, but fall into the order listed above by ranking. After ranking, the order is determined by sign-up order.

Can I use the paint I want? Yes, but you must respect the Racing Rules #15. Also, to support our sponsors, we may force a decal to the windshield banner of your car on the broadcast.

Can I join as a reserve or later in the season? No, we are not managing Reserve/Waiting list. We are not allowing new driver to join the series after season starts.

What is the structure of a race day?
  • Race Day: Sunday
  • Practice: 6:10pm EDT (140 minutes)
  • Qualifying: 8:30pm EDT (5 minutes / 2 laps)
  • Race: 8:35pm EDT (laps / max. 90 minutes)
Is it open or fixed setup? 2021/S2 is Open setups.

What is the schedule? We are following official iRacing NASCAR A Class Series schedule. Can be review by management.

What is the points system? The full scoring system is available in the Rules Document you will find below.

Would like to just say that I am glad to be back after my internet issues of past and can't wait to race with you guys again! Also a note to Hootius I would like to keep my number 8 from last season as prefered and just ditch the 21. The Dale Jr. Number of old is growing on me. Excited to be back in the seat with some good competitors.

Also,

I'm not sure who to bring this up to, but is there a way we can verify that the weather is set correctly for season 2? It seemed that our races were 10 degrees or more hotter than the races during the week. While this doesn't matter too much in the trucks, it does with the open sets over on this side. Just want to see if the admins and organizers can triple check everything. Looking forward to a great 2021 S2!

Open set official races and practices have dynamic weather and sky so it’s always possible to be hotter (or cooler) than official practices and races.

No the sessions are always setup incorrectly, whoever made them puts them as "Weather Constant" when they should be "Weather Realistic" Or "Dynamic Weather".

I forgot I edited my post and took the first line away, which makes my post make no sense. But, yes, you would be correct and that’s what I was meaning to say. Should’ve double checked after the edit. But with it being dynamic, it could still be hotter or cooler based on clear or cloudy skies too. It’ll just be a variable(as it should) instead of the same weather constantly.

Its all good, but yeah that should be correct, it usually sets the weather that the day of the year it is, and has an average window of temp. It can of course be hotter or cooler, but I doubt all 10 races will be 10-15 degrees hotter every week. lol

I'm fairly certain that it is an iRacing thing. If it were not, then the Truck series races, which are set to static weather in the official series, would not be 10 degrees hotter every week as well. I'm in 5 different iRacing leagues, racing 6 to 7 races a week, and I have yet to see a race session that has temps matching the official series'.

Trucks are not set to static weather as seen here. Its just a small mistake by admins, not a big deal just something a few of us have noticed this season. No harm no foul, if they want to fix it, its up to them. If they want to keep it as Constant weather then I may start having hosted practices or something to accurately depict the weather every week.

That’s for open if I’m not mistaken. All official fixed are constant weather with dynamic sky (which is just one thing that can affect track temperature) while all official open setups are dynamic weather with dynamic sky.

Yeah, not talking about fixed here. That could be where Patrick is confused. All fixed sessions are constant weather.

I don't even know what I'm talking about now. Either way, it is in the series specific rules that the weather is supposed to match the official series, so it should be set to generated weather. I don't know if it was or not, but at one point in the broadcast Sunday night they said the air temp was 81 degrees. If it is set to static, wouldn't that stay 78 degrees?

I’ve seen it move 2-3 degrees either way based on the time of day even in official fixed with constant weather. I think if it was constant weather with static sky, it wouldn’t change at all. The dynamic sky must do more than track temp and allow the air temp to go a few degrees either way too

You also put heat in the track with the cars driving on it but yeah its not 100% fixed weather even with constant settings., a cloud or time will slowly change it.
