@GT3 Pro Series 2022/S1
As some of you noticed, we are struggling to get signups for this series as we only have 22 registered drivers at less than a week of season start. We think that one of the biggest reason is because the season is starting right before the Holiday period and some drivers can't attend the first round. What's the point to signup knowing you will miss the first round? As a result, we have decided to delay the season start to January 3rd and host a 9 races championship instead of 10.
We understand that some drivers may either not be able to attend on January 3rd. However, we would like to remind everyone that all drivers have 1 drop week!
What happen to the race hosted on Dec. 20th at Knockhill? We will still be hosting the race! It will be served as pre-season testing but will not be broadcasted unfortunately.
Also, in favor of getting more drivers to signup, we have decided to reduce the minimum iRating required to 1500 and rename that series GT3 Pro/AM series. In the last day, we have received few messages from drivers wanting to join the GT3 Amateur series but the series was full unfortunately. We will then offer them to race on Monday in a Pro/AM environment.
PRO/AM Series setup
That will be very straight forward! Drivers between 1500 and 2500 iRating will be racing in the Amateur category, and drivers above 2500 iRating will be racing in the Pro category. In the results spreadsheet, there will be 1 Amateur championship, 1 Pro championship and 1 global championship.
Here is an example: Driver A is Pro, Driver B is Pro, Driver C is Amateur and Driver D is Amateur.
For the first round, Driver A finished P3, Driver B finished P1, Driver C finished P2 and Driver D finish P4.
- For the team championship, there will be no difference between Pro or AM and points scored for the team will be based on the global championship standing. Also, there will be a rule that if you want to have a 3 drivers team, it will be mandatory that at least one of the driver is Amateur or Pro driver. So it can be:
- On the broadcast, we will be able to see who's Pro and AM because we will add a nickname to every driver. Here is an example: Jerome Berthiaume [AM]
Now that we have reduce the requirements, we invite all drivers to spread the word! We can recruit way more drivers and we have 2 weeks to do it before the season start on January 3rd!
Thanks everyone and feel free to reply here if you have any question!
