Still trying to work out all the kinks in this new rig, Pedal position, etc.
Missed Kansas due to electrical gremlins. Figured out the button box / paddle shifters weren't getting a good ground causing a "disconnect" mid race. Think I fixed that today by honing the i.d. of the hub.
Now in the process of reinstalling everything I broke the bolts off in the hub, So looks like I am out until Nov 1st.

Sorry to hear it James. I'm still adding to my new rig with pedals last month and new base a wheel this month. So far (knock on wood) no major issues. More planned upgrades in March. Hope you can get it sorted and be back soon. Best wishes, C.M.

I think it was a fluke more than anything, I switched my choice of button plate/shifter at the last minute because I thought having a product from the US was a better idea in case there were issues or warranty concerns and in doing so I probably chose the only one that works perfect with every wheel base but mine. On the flipside, customer service has been helpful and easy to deal with so no complaints.

Pedal position / seat position was huge! I built the rig mainly due to spine injuries. Trying to find a better seat position, and seat that would alleviate some of the pain that I was experiencing when racing. I've been notorious for mounting a good charge, or having a decent run and falling apart in the final laps due to physical exhaustion. The goal was increase my stamina and in turn increase seat time. Getting the new pedals in the right position was excruciating. I would make a small position or angle adjustment and then run a race to realize at the halfway point this isn't going to cut it! It took weeks! I finally had to modify the pedal pads from a 20 year old set of pedals to get the spacing the way I wanted it. Adjust some more... rinse... repeat. I think I finally have that part nailed down. I feel like I have run better recently, the finishes don't show it because I have either botched qualifying or been caught up in an inc.. More important I don't hit that point in the race where I just wish it was over, wanting to get out of the seat and when I do climb out of the rig I am not completely exhausted.

So good luck on your upgrades, it is really gratifying when you get better input from the wheel than you had expected, feeling what you have been missing or just finding the right adjustments that make you more at home in the rig. My two cents, spend on the seat. Not a racing seat. Just something you can be comfortable in for longer. Mine is a suspension seat from Corbeau but there are numerous quality automotive seats to choose from.
Hopefully I'll be back for Martinsville (have parts on order) I think next week will be the best test yet.

Anyone here use this Ricmotech box?
The QR came in the mail Monday, got the rig back together and ran a couple officials to test everything and get ready for Wed. race.
As soon as I logged into practice the damn thing quit working again, swapped some cables and got lucky. It worked for Homestead. Thurs. morn. NOTHING! Swapped cables. Added a powered USB hub, and got rid of the extenders. Tried a couple different ground locations.. NOTHING! Guess I'll be back on the phone with Ricmotech again in the AM.
Hopefully I can just get a refund, I feel I've wasted enough time on this POS.
Another member suggested APEX, and I will most likely go that route as soon as I can get my money back (assuming I can)
Was really looking forward to getting this sorted and doing some road racing. I just can't see it until I have a shifter. Got a fight stick bungee'd to the top of the wheel deck for now!
Anyway, I was curious... anyone use this box? Your experience? Is it crap or am I just unlucky?

Sorry the hear your having to deal with these hardware performance issues. I've been lucky so far with my hardware upgrades. But recently I'm having problems with my IP. I've lost connection in 3 of my last PRL races and during practice a number of times. My in game ping rates have gone up from 125 to 133 and are now 133 up to 168. No one has ever said I was blinking but with no sign of a problem all other cars disappear and I'm disconnected. I upgraded my service a few months back when I was disconnected from one race. I upgraded to 200bit down and 20 up but my ping in game stayed the same. But for a couple of months I had no problems. The last few weeks The ping rates went up and the disconnects came more and more often. Calling tech support they've reset my connection and tell me they updated some firmware. Anyway today they gave me the same dance but I wasn't accepting their steps. So they said I should try the gamers package for an extra 15 dollars a month. So now I have 300 down and 30 up. But I think its BS really. I raced an official today without issue The ping rate stayed at 133 the whole time. I think my ping rate should be below 100 all the time. Would be interested to know what ping rates others are getting at what upload and down load speeds, if anyone is willing to share this info. I'm paying $90 a month now so I'm thinking I need to look into other options.

Not that I know what any of this means...
Latency 32.9 Upload 128.9 Download 608.5 mbps., ping is usually in the 60's
I believe the ping has more to do with distance to server, someone can correct me or explain better.

Ping is the time (in milliseconds) it takes for a signal to be sent from your computer to the server and back. If your ping is 133, it most likely means that you are not in a session with a North America based server (assuming you live in North America). Typically if the server is East Coast, and you are from the eastern side of North America, it's usually around 66/68.

Thanks guys and I agree about the ping. But I was getting a constant 125 ping before I upgraded my ISP. But the last month or so it's gone up to 133 and as high as 158. Again no reported blinking, it's like someone just flips off a switch and I'm kicked. I was kicked twice tonight. Once during practice and again when rolling off to start the race. I'll be dealing with my provider in the morning. Anyway how are you doing Patrick? On the mend I hope. You were driving hard tonight and hanging on late to some hairy stuff out there. Great job keeping of the wall and clear of those who were racing you hard. It made for great TV.

Another guy I raced with, connection just went to crap back in S-1
His provider replaced the modem and that took care of all his issues. Same thing with another buddy up in N.C. He would lose connection all the time playing The Hunter with me & the wife.
Has your provider checked your equipment?

Still dealing with the pinched nerve. My whole left arm has been going numb while racing which is making things extremely difficult. The pain is manageable since the doc gave me some nerve relaxants until I can get in to the specialist, but it doesn't completely take it away. It seems to only effect my speed slightly, and I'm not giving up on racing just because I'm in pain, it's the only thing that keeps me sain lol.

About 10 years ago I had a condition with both of my shoulders. It made me stop racing and everything else that required my arms to move. It started with a little pain and stiffness. I kept working and racing and it got much worse. Looking back now I think maybe if I'd have rested back then it would have never gotten so bad. I don't know for sure but I doubt it would have hurt. Maybe your at that place now were taking a break might not be a bad idea. With the race seasons ending and the Holiday break at hand. I know it's hard to just shut down when you've got family depending on you. Your arm going numb is your body sending you a message. I would advise against ignoring it. So take it easy brother and have a speedy recovery. Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas.
