With F1 2017 coming out with classic cars, I think it would be very cool to do a league with them or somehow integrate them into the normal league. I was wondering on what your guys opinion would be on doing something league related with classic cars and any ideas you have to make it work.

An idea i had is to do a whole classic car league as a standalone from the normal league (maybe we could even make that league a multiclass league with 3 or 4 different classic cars to choose from).

Really excited for them, certainly a league I'd join. Super excited about the new pitstops too!

We don't mind about creating another championship with the classic car, but we need to test it first, and we need to make sure it will not hurt the attendance of the Wednesday champ.

Thats why i was seeing if anyone had any ideas of a way to include classic cars without having to make another league.

I think nick or darklol had a good idea for a separate championship where we would race a different classic car each race and we would all be driving the same car. Since the performance of the different classic cars will not be equal, this would give everyone a fair opportunity to win. It would also be fun to drive all the different cars in the league races.

Or maybe it would be pretty fun to do that same idea, but in the same championship where every other race is with a classic car. That way we can keep the schedule the same since everyone is good with this schedule. Just a thought!

If it wouldnt hurt attendance of the main league, i think the best way to do it would be to make another league. It might even get more people to race in PRL F1 series. Some people cant do wednesday nights so if this was another day, they could do this instead.

That could possibly work. For me personally, I am starting my last year of college next month, so I probably won't have time for 2 championships. I will definitely still be in the normal one and can still race the classic cars in my spare time though.

It might be an interesting idea say after 4 races we do a classic race and then that could have a separate points system for classic points, so it would be like a mini 5 race championship, but we would have to see how other people would like that idea. IT would kind of break up the season as well so after 4 races we can have a not so serious fun race.

Sounds like a great idea to me

I would say to keep it 2 separate series. Modern league on Wednesdays and Classic league on Sunday. Also, i want to jump out and say that we should get rid of holiday breaks from the racing schedule. Unless its Christmas or New Years, dont take a week off for something so minor as thanksgiving and "Independence day/Canada Day" since those holidays are different for everyone and not everyone goes out to celebrate those holidays. Canada has Family Day in February and you guys aren't giving us Canadians a week off and we shouldnt have to. I want to race as much as I can as often as i can. I vote to not have holiday breaks during our schedules except for the last week of December. If people miss races because of a holiday THEY want to celebrate, then thats their choice. Earlier this month, on that break, we had 10 guys who wanted to race (6 showed up for fun) so that shows that these weeks without racing is a hassle more than a courtesy.

Don't forget that in Canada we are not celebrating holiday as they do in USA. We always add break for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, Valentine Day (our girlfriends appreciated it I'm sure), Easter, Memorial Day, Independance Day and Labor Week. But it's different season after season. If we put a break week in a season, be aware that it's a decision that the management team of PRL took by experience. We are not taking any chances as historically, we have bad attendance when we are racing on Holiday. Also, the F1 Season has 20 races... it's a long season and I think break are usually appreciated by our members. We try to put the less break we can, but sometimes, we think it's just preferable to put it. Another point, we also use break week sometimes to add update on the website and forum as we know that those weeks will not be as active as other week on the website.

If we are going to have 20 races per season can we have 2 races a week? Because at 1 race a week, it'll mean only 2 seasons (maybe 3 if shortened) before the next game. I would like more seasons before the next game is released. Say if I have one bad season, at least the next one isn't far from starting. It'll allow for new teammates every season, new strategies, more experience. I would love having 2 races a week to speed up the experience. Maybe take a poll for this? The more seasons the better. I know I won't make every race but I will definitely try to. It seems like the best attendance is at the beginning of a season, fast tracking new seasons might improve attendance

We have to keep it to 1 night per week as having 2 nights is just unrealistic for most people.  If you can do another night, you could run in another league along with PRL.

For the vacations, you would be surprised how many people go out of town etc for holidays and we need to allow at least a few days and to be flexible.  It would be the worst feeling to lose a championship just because you want to spent time with family and that is not fair to put regular drivers in that position.  We could look at what days they fall on though because some we might be able to race on depending on the day.  So since this league is on a Wednesday, Thanksgiving is on Thursday all the time and people travel Wednesday so that needs to be off.  Say for Valentines Day though, if that falls on a Friday, I don't see why we can't race on Wednesday as that is 2 days before.  We have run into this before when racing near holidays and only half or less of the drivers show up which is why Jerome makes breaks in the schedule.

Shortened seasons run into the problem where 2 bad races can ruin your chances with bad luck.  A 20 race season you can overcome dnfs, pc issue, and being unavailable.  The season prior to this one was shortened and I am not sure that many people enjoyed it because we got feedback to go back to a full length season for this year until we found out the release date would be in August so we shortened it.  It is always good though for polls to be opened on the forum just to get feedback from others so feel free to do so!

If there is going to be a seperate classic car league, then people that want to race 2 nights a week can and people that can only do one can race in just 1 league. I think someone should make a poll on whether to make a classic cars league or to include it in normal league. We should try to get as many drivers as possible to respond because it would involve everyone. I can't make it as my pc is currently being shipped.

With F1 2013, with did a small season with classic cars, it was sunday night @ 8pm eastern. We were about 8-10 drivers only to do it on about 25 + drivers.. we had 4 divisions with 2013 so alot more racers than today. But im up with a classic car small season. As long is no too late lol

Yeah in regards to that a separate night would be fine for a classic season, it would just be a bad idea for the normal championship to be spread over 2 nights for 2 races a week.
