Hey guys,

It looks we are going to gave to combine both the Elite and amateur series into one race session. This is due to not getting enough sign ups for both divisions. We apologize for the last minute change but we hope that this will keep the grids full during the entire season and avoid having only 10 or so drivers left at the end of the season. We will keep separate championship scoring for each division so even though you will be in the same race as the Elite drivers you will not really be competing against them.

This does mean that the race session will be broadcast. Due to the broadcast fees, we will need to ask every driver to pay the $10 entry fee. Again we apologize for the last minute fee but this will ensure that the broadcasts can continue for the Thursday night series. Please pay the entry fee by end of day September 16th (this Wednesday).

If you have any questions please PM myself, Matt, or anyone in PRL management.

Thanks and I hope to see everyone in a couple of weeks!
Owen

Little nervous now... running with the Pro guys (in open-wheelers no less) and being a n00b at this in general.  I'm glad that we'll still be separated out for scoring.  I was nervous enough running with the "amateur" group, but now.

I will do my best, and hope to get better with every round, and although last season's GT4 series was my first proper league, felt I improved through the season.  Looking forward to getting on track - and have already started practicing, ran about 30-40 laps last night at Philip Island.

Thanks so much for all you guys do to set these up.  It's such a good time racing with you all, and although my experience is fairly limited I feel that this is a great group of guys to race with.  I mean, even when there are touches and accidents (which happen in real life) that there isn't any malice or intent involved - it's almost always just good hard racing going on.

Appreciate you guys!!

Also, if anyone is looking for a team mate, let me know as I don't have a team to join. I'm very amateur and looking to improve, but would like to run on a team, so if anyone wants to add me or join a team with me, please let me know.

thanks!

I actually think this is pretty cool. Essentially a multi-class league with the same car. Get kind of the best of both worlds. Get to be on the broadcast and still compete against people closer in skill.

Hey guys,

So just to clarify how the points will work with the two divisions. The two classes will be scored completely separate. So the top finishing amateur driver will always score 35 points (even if his overall finishing position was 5th), the second highest amateur will score 33 points, and so on. Same thing for the Elite drivers. Also we are going to add an "AM-" or a "PRO-" before each drivers name in the race so that you can easily figure out who's in what class during the race.

Last thing to note, team sign ups and league invites in iracing will be open by this Friday. It's going to be a little bit messy as far as car numbers are concerned because we are merging the two divisions in one session and I'm guessing there will be a few duplicate numbers. I'll do the best I can to get you the number you signed up with but there is no guarantee. It's going to be a pretty large field to start the season (~45 drivers) but should be a lot of fun.

Hope to see you guys next week!
Owen

I submitted my payment on the 13th, but have not received a confirmation that I'm all set. Also, are you combining the pro & am forum pages for the season?

In light of what transpired in the Elite sign-ups thread, I would personally like to say that I appreciate the countless hours donated by PRL staff to support this league. It doesn't go unrecognized. Looking forward to a another great season!!!

Hi all,

League invites have been sent. For returning members it is a different iracing league so you still need to accept the invite to get in.
