Caution Reviews, Protests and Appeals

On Track Reviews and Procedures

[li]On track incidents should be avoided at all costs.[/li]
[li]On track incidents that result in a caution will be automatically reviewed by the PRL Chief Oval Steward and will be ruled on immediately following the race.[/li]
[li]On track incidents that do not cause a caution can still be reviewed. Please message Charles Sumner via PM on Discord within 30 minutes of the end of the race. If Charles is not present for the race, please contact one of the other Organizers.[/li]
[li]Race Start and Caution Restarts will also be reviewed by the Steward team for early 3-wide violations.[/li]
[li]PRL's Racing Rules and iRacing's Sporting Code are in effect for all official races through the season.[/li]
[li]Stewards will issue a caution point value against a driver(s) found at fault for initiating the caution, as well as drivers maneuvering carelessly or recklessly that lead to other drivers getting involved in the caution. The standard is 1 point per caution, however the Stewards have the right to issue a larger point value if the action that started the incident was deemed to be a Major infraction or causing cautions in consecutive races. No points will be assessed if Netcode if ruled to be the deciding factor. [/li]
[li]Any driver assessed 2 caution points within a 3 race period (rolling timeline), will be ordered to start from the rear of the field for the next race. Any driver assessed 3 caution points within a 5 race period (rolling timeline), will be suspended for 1 race (which will not go towards a bye week). Any driver assessed 5 cautions points during the duration of the season will be parked for the remainder of the season.[/li]
[li]Any driver who is issued an EOL start penalty shall not qualify. Drivers caught doing so will be issued a black flag and will be disqualified.[/li]
[li]Any driver who gets DSQ for not serving a black flag during the race will be placed in last and all points will be removed, and the race will not count as a drop week. If you receive a black flag in the final moments of a race and do not have time to serve it, you must contact the race organizers so the appropriate action can be taken.[/li]
[li]You have the right to Appeal a caution decision if you feel the original ruling was incorrect. Contact will Charles Sumner withing 48 hours of the end of the race if you wish to Appeal a ruling. The entire Steward Team will review the incident and will cast a vote, in which the majority vote will be the final verdict. Losing an Appeal will place a 30-day restriction in place where you may not Appeal a verdict again.[/li]

Round 1: Atlanta

Stewards Reviews:

[li]The Stewards reviewed a protest of contact on Lap 19 between Andy Spicer and Josue Tellez. The Stewards have found that Andy deterred from his line on the exit of T2 and created contact which gave significant damage to Josue. For this review, the Stewards are awarding Andy Spicer 1 caution point.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed a protest of contact on Lap 44 between Andy Spicer and Eric Tallant. The Stewards have found that Andy deterred from his line on the exit of T4, bounced off of the wall, and created contact which gave significant damage to Eric and another vehicle. For this review, the Stewards are awarding Andy Spicer 1 caution point.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 60 caution. The Stewards have noted the the amount of netcode between Tristan Callahan and Mark Kaelin was enough to the point where the Stewards can not fully say that contact would have happened if not for the netcode. Due to that ruling, there will be no caution penalty awarded for this caution.[/li]
[li]There was an inquiry made by Goeff Costeloe to remove 2 separate 2x incidents that happened as he traveled to pit road after blowing a RF tire. While the car's behavior was noted as being erratic, the game's behavior is what we do abide by as in other cases like netcode when we do not retract incident points. As it was due to  Geoff taking his RF to the limit and blowing it out which caused the situation in the first place, the Stewards will leave the final results as is and not remove and incident points.[/li]

Round 2: Homestead

Stewards Reviews:

[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 45 caution. The Stewards have found Danny Cervantes at fault for losing control exiting pit road access road and spinning onto the track.[/li]
[li]The Stewards are issuing this warning to all driver to please limit talking to absolute minimum during green flag conditions so that we don't have another situation where a driver who was pitting could not get the call out and caused a chain reaction which damaged multiple vehicles.[/li]

Round 3: Texas

Stewards Reviews:

[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 13 caution. The Stewards have found Robert Bewsaw at fault for hitting the wall out of T2 and triggering an incident.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 46 caution. The Stewards have found James Duke at fault for hitting the wall out of T2 and spinning.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 64 caution. The Stewards have found Chad Brown at fault for hitting the wall out of T2 and spinning.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 74 caution. The Stewards have found Josue Tellez at fault for moving up and creating contact with Blaine Adams on the exit of T4, resulting in a spin. The Stewards do note that Blaine did get loose on corner exit, and held his line instead of drifting further up towards the wall.  This did limit Josue's reaction time a bit, so the Stewards are only giving a partial caution point for this incident.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 81 caution. The Stewards have found Adam Schoen at fault for leaving a lane open on entry, then coming down late across Paul Williams nose, resulting in a spin.[/li]
[li]Due to post race actions against the PRL's Code of Conduct, the Stewards have issued a 1 race suspension to Paul Williams.[/li]
[li]The Stewards are issuing a league wide warning to all drivers to please be aware of your pit box and to not run through excessive amount of pit boxes to get into your stall. This can create an unfair advantage.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed a protest of contact on Lap 13 between Barron Hilton and Robert Besaw. The Stewards have found Barron Hilton at fault for pushing up 2 in the apex of T1/2, and creating contact with Robert, which resulted in damage.[/li]

[li]Due to creating a post race altercation at Texas, Paul Williams will serve a 1 race suspension at Bristol.[/li]

[li]The Stewards reviewed the the Lap 2 incident. The Stewards have found James Duke at fault for making contact with the LR of Charles Sumner in T3, triggering an incident.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 25 caution. The Stewards have found James Duke at fault for losing control on the front stretch and spinning.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 33 caution. The Stewards have found Steven Durbin at fault for losing control on the front stretch and coming to a stop.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 63 caution. Due to changing lanes as a lapped car in front of leaders on txit of T4 which caused a big check up and triggering an incident, the Stewards are giving Geoff Costeloe the caution point for this caution.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 83 caution. The Stewards have found at the point of contact, both Danny Cervantes and Adam Schoen were moving towards one another and share responsibility in this caution.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 107 caution. The Stewards have found Brenden Chatley as the cause of the caution losing control out of T4. Due to the fact though that the car never spun and Brenden kept the car on the apron at a slow pace, the Stewards are only charging a partial caution point for this caution.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 113 caution. The Stewards have found Bradley Holly at fault for making contact with Josue Tallez and triggering an incident.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 150 caution. The Stewards have found Scotty Johnson at fault for getting into the wall on the exit of T4, and coming down and triggering an incident.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed a protest of contact on Lap 92 between Bradley Holly and Richard Regan. The Stewards have found Bradley Holly at fault for not holding his line and moving up and creating door to door contact with Richard, which sent Richard into the wall and Bradley to gain the position.[/li]

[li]Due to collecting 3.5 caution points in 2 races, James Duke will serve a 1 race suspension at Richmond.[/li]

Round 5: Talladega

Penalties to be Served:

[li]Due to collecting 2 caution points at Bristol, Bradley Holly must not qualify at Richmond and start from the rear of the field.[/li]
[li]Due to collecting 3.5 caution points in 2 races, James Duke will serve a 1 race suspension at Richmond.[/li]

Stewards Reviews:

[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 11 caution. The Stewards have found Jay Felton at fault for trying to move to the bottom line, but was not clear and resulted in a spin and a multicar accident.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 17 caution. The Stewards noted that there was a slight drift to the right at the point of contact by Josue Tellez, however Barron Hilton traveled a full lane to the left while not straightening out his car, also while they were 3 wide with another driver on the bottom lane. Due to the distance traveled by Barron, the Stewards are finding him at fault for his caution.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 37 caution. The Stewards noted that both James Duke and Rob Besaw were traveling towards one another at the point of "contact", however there was a big enough gap of netcode that prevents the Stewards from declaring if there would have been real contact or not. No driver will be given a caution point for this caution.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 48. The Stewards have found Brendan Chatley at found for creating contact with the rear of Geoff Costello on the back stretch, triggering an incident.[/li]

The Stewards have noted that James Duke was moving to the right as Josue Tellez was moving to the left on the backstretch, both below a car on the outside of a 3 wide. The Stewards have ruled that both drivers have a shared responsibility in this caution.[/li]
[li]The Stewards have reviewed the Lap 8 caution. The Stewards have found Paul Williams at fault for getting into the rear of  Colton Layne entering T3.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 13 caution. The Stewards have noted that Charles Sumner was moving to the right as Danny Cervantes was moving to the left in T2 at the point of contact. The Stewards have ruled that both drivers have a shared responsibility in this caution.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 22 caution. The Stewards have found Dan McLaren at fault for losing control of his vehicle entering T3.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 30 caution. The Stewards have found Chad Brown at fault for losing control of his vehicle on the exit of T4.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 56 caution. The Stewards have found Barron Hilton at fault for losing control of his vehicle on the exit of T4.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 61 caution. The Stewards have found Dan McLaren at fault for losing control of his vehicle on the restart and coming down into the line of Josue Tellez.[/li]
[li]The Stewards have reviewed the Lap 80 caution. The Stewards have found Adam Schoen at fault for getting into the rear of  Mark Kaelin entering T3.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 87 caution. The Stewards have found Jay Felton at fault for getting into the rear of joshua Daniels entering T1, which caused Joshua to get into Pat Harvey and cause a spin.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 95 caution. The Stewards have found Bradley Holly at fault for getting into the rear of Scotty Johnson entering T1.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed a protest of contact against James Duke on Lap 94. The Stewards have found James at fault for getting into the rear of Mark Kaelin in T3, resulting in a spin and several cars being collected.[/li]
[li]The Stewards reviewed the Lap 108 caution. The Stewards have found Colton Layne at fault for getting into the rear of Jay Felton entering T3.[/li]
