Hey just reaching out to see if this is being considered for 2022 S4? Looks Like S3 was full rather quick, and now with the registration open for all for S4, its already at 43 drivers as of when I checked a few min ago. Our team at Sim City Racing may enter a couple more drivers if this opens up more space.

We have 60 places on both GT3 series.

For Pro/AM, we can't promise we will do it, not the plan so far. There is a cap iRating for GT3 foxed which suggest it's AM oriented. With no cap on GT3 Sprint, it suggest the SoF may be high.

When you say 60 places on both series, does that mean 30 cars for each or 60 cars for each?

To be honest, and that is my point of view but I think many of us have the same, it is a LOT more fun for the mid / end field to have the AM class mixed or not with the PRO. Fighting for a top 30 is not that fun / challenging. I may consider switching my subscripion to another serie if there is not split grid in the Sprint series.

I want to put my two cents in it for the AM/PRO class debate: I went and counted the amount of drivers with a irating of over 2.5k and I counted 26 drivers which should field 13 teams. That is more than a current F1 grid so I just don't see why there can't be a Pro and AM Class next season. Either way, I love racing in the league.

On paper it sounds balanced. Unfortunately, iRating is not always an accurate representation of our skill levels which makes pro/am splits quite difficult to do accurately.
So we opted to keep the 830 slot with a 2.5k cap to have it more AM Class oriented, then those signing up for the upcapped 1.5k+ series would be with the understanding that theres going to be some Aliens, and the opportunity to learn and grow from chasing them.

This is something management can discuss again though, given the community feedback. Its hard to plan a split ahead of time when we have no idea what signups will look like. Now that we have a better idea (given that the Sprint series is near max), we can look it over and see if there could be a good balance, but the current plan as of now is for no split this season.

At the end of the day, we're here to try and make the best racing experience we can for the drivers. This is great feedback to be getting.

Here’s an idea: with the current sprint series drivers right now, do a points per race average of the overall standings that excludes DNFs, DSQs, or DNSs. Take the top 20 drivers that meet this category and they will race PRO next season. Regarding new drivers coming in, maybe take the SOF and if they meet or exceed the SOF at the beginning of the season, then they race PRO. If they are below that, they race AM. I think this would be a good metric to determine if someone is pro/am and I agree with the whole irating metric doesn’t necessarily say whether a driver is pro or am. This allows some stats to come in but also giving a metric that helps determine incoming drivers. I completely understand it’s a difficult decision. Probably also would need a rule that prevents tanking or move the Finished race minimum up to 75% or something like that.

There are pros and cons that go both ways.

Historically, with pro-am split series, we always have major debates when it comes to drivers who are on the bubble. As Nick stated, the only metric we have for now is iR and we all know that not everyone runs officials which leads to significant inaccuracies. There are several drivers in PRL that finish top 10 in pro, but their irating would suggest mid pack at best in an AM series.

That said, let us have a closer look and discuss internally. We can definitely run a poll as well.

Sounds good! I thought I’d put some suggestions in there to help improve PRL!
