Welcome to the PRL NASCAR Cup Series! The 2020/Season 1 Sunday series will be held in the NASCAR A Class Fixed (Cup Cars)!

INFORMATION & FAQ

When does the season start and end? 2020 Season 1 will start on December 15th and will end on March 1st. There will 2 bye weeks on December 22nd and 29th for the Holiday Season.
 
How many races in the season? There will be 10 races in the season.
 
Is there any drop week? Each driver gets 1 drop week. The Season Finale race will not be allowed to count as a drop week, only Races 1-9. There is no drop week for the Team Championship as it takes the top 2 finishes out of the 3 drivers for that race.
 
What day/time do races start? Races are on Sunday. The session start at 6:10pm with the qualifying at 9pm (EDT).
 
How many seats are available? There is a maximum of 42 seats available.
 
Is this championship broadcasted? Yes!!! However due to prior obligations our broadcasters have, a couple of our races will not be able to be broadcasted. More details to come.
 
How can I register? To register, you must first read the entire thread. After, at the bottom, you will find a Google Form that you'll need to fill out.
 
Is there any fees to signup? To help cover the cost of broadcasting, the fee will be $10 for the season. All drivers will be required to pay the fee prior to the start of the season to claim a seat. If you miss any races or drop out mid season, you will not be refunded any of the sign up fees you paid. 
 
How can I make sure I'll have a seat? Here is the seat priority for this series:

[li]Full time seats will only be assigned to drivers who have shown good participation in their past PRL seasons, and to new drivers (innocent until proven guilty).[/li]
[li]The Premium Members will always have a full time seat as soon as they sign up 1 week before the season start.[/li]
[li]The last season's drivers will be assigned to a full time seats prior to the new drivers as soon as they sign up 1 week before the season start. To be considered as a returning driver, you must have attended a minimum of 5 races.[/li]
[li]If you sign up but have not shown good participation in the past, you may be placed to the waiting list. If you get a full time seat, you'll have to prove us you can attend each race.[/li]

Do I need to have a specific license, iRating or Safety Rating? It is required to have a minimum of C 2.0 license for asphalt oval races (any other discipline will only require a D 2.0). There is no restriction for iRating at this time, but may change in the future.

Can I register as part of a team? Of course! But each driver of the team must create an account on the PRL forum and register for the series.

How are car numbers handled? Any returning league driver from the previous season has the rights to the number they used in that previous season, as long as they are signed up and pay their dues 1 week prior to the start of the season. All un-used numbers may be claimed in order of First-come, First-serve by this ranking: Premium<-Returning Driver<-New Driver. A returning driver may change their number if they wish, but full into the order listed above by ranking. After ranking, the order is determined by sign-up order.
 
What happens if I'm removed from the full time driver list? You may be moved to the waiting list for one of the reason mentioned above. If there is a seat that becomes free, you will be contacted by email or on the iRacing website.
 
What is the structure of a race day?

[li]Practice: 6:10pm EDT (170 minutes)[/li]
[li]Qualifying: 9pm EDT (5 minutes / 2 laps)[/li]
[li]Race: 9:05pm EDT (laps / max. 60 minutes)[/li]

Is it open or fixed setup? 2020/S1 is Fixed setups.
 
What is the points system? The full scoring system is available in the Results, Standings and Scoring System thread.

All Official PRL Championship’s shall adhere to the site wide PRL Rules & iRacing Sporting Code. All rules mentioned below surpass PRL & iRacing Sporting Code rules.
 

It is mandatory to read the rules document. If you are not following rules, you may received a penalty or be excluded from the series.​

SIGN-UP SECTION​

 

In favor to help us cover the broadcast expenses, we are asking all members a $10 entry fee.​

 ​

[li]The entry fee isn't refundable as soon as the season starts[/li]
[li]You will be removed from the driver list of you haven't paid a week prior the season start[/li]
[li]If you have paid and are moved to the waiting list because a Premium member or returning driver signup and the list is full, you'll be refunded.[/li]
[li]If you are on the waiting list, at the moment we are contacting you to give you a full time seat, you'll only have to pay for the remaining races ($1 per race).[/li]

Just a friendly reminder that all drivers who will not have paid by Dec. 8th or created an account on our forum will be removed from the series, even if they are returning or premium member.

Just a reminder to all drivers, league dues need to be paid by Dec 8th to guarantee a spot. while we do not have a waiting list at this time, any driver who does not pay will not be given an invite to the league in iRacing, nor will they be eligible to join a team when the teams can declare on the 8th. Any new person who signs up and pays are given immediate preference over a registered who doesn't pay by the 8th.

Alrighty gents. The roster is getting updated later today and those who have not paid will be removed.

For those who have paid, check the League section inside of iRacing for your invite to the Sunday league. Sessions will be hosted inside the league.

We do have 2 number conflicts: Joshua Daniels and Jake Hounshell need to select new numbers as your requests were already taken. Please reach out to me with your next choice.


As of this post, we do not have 42 paid entries, so there is still room for those interested. Those spots will be filled "first come, first serve" based on payment.

Just a reminder to all drivers: please read the Rules Document that is hyperlinked in the original post. It is mandatory that everyone reads it to understand all league rules (you clicked a checkbox that you read it when you signed up!!!)

With that, the rules have been updated. Here are the 2 big updates for this season:

3. Voice Chat rules for iRacing and Discord

         a. Drivers are allowed to use spotters if they choose to do so (they do not need to be apart of the PRL). Spotters are not allowed to contact any other driver for any reason during the race. Spotters are expected to follow the same Code of Conduct rules as the drivers. Any intervention needed by management will be reflected on to the driver. Please keep this in mind and only allow those you really trust to spot for you during our league races as you will pay any price that they may create. Please reach out to management with any questions.

4. Series Specific Rules 
     9. Warming Up Tires: With NTM V7, drivers are allowed to move side to side to keep tire heat up during cautions. Fast acceleration/hard braking is not permitted. Once the field is given the “1 to go, line up double-file” command, tire warming is no longer allowed. Any contact created or extending a caution due to spinning because of tire warming will be penalized with a Caution Points penalty after the race.

Just an update on the roster. All 42 spots were finalized the day of the first race. We will accept a few more names for the waiting list, but anyone who signs up at this point, please do not pay. Unfortunately due to work schedule conflict with race times, i will not be able to participate in any more races this season. I am withdrawing from the league and i wish everyone good luck in the remaining races this season. it has been a blast for the short time i have been a part of the league and look forward to participating in the future seasons if my work schedule allows. thank you

Season 2 is just around the corner! I was considering to racing with you, but the race time is the same (Sunday 9 pm) of the official NASCAR iRacing Series - Fixed, that starts this week.

I think that a lot of guys interested in your series will also be interested to race the official NiS.

Will you keep the same day/time, or you will be evaluate other possibilities?

Thanks for reaching out Luis. At this time, there are no plans to change our current schedule and will continue to race Sundays @ 9pm. I know a chunk of us are racing the fixed NIS on Thursday nights.
