Pre race interview:

1. Our second and final 1.5 mile track of the season. Will you miss them or are you ready for the mixed bag of tracks that lie ahead?

2. Should nascar cup series have a midweek night race like they do with eldora?

3. What’s your worst travel story?

1. 1.5s can be fun, but I'm ready for a little change up.

2. Yes. They need to do something special. Not necessarily dirt but maybe some kind of short track race in a new market i.e. Nashville, Memphis, Portland, or something of that nature.

3. Went to Ohio for a car show with my buddy Harley who was driving his slammed Acura Vigor. The way there seemed to be pretty smooth. It's a stance car, so it can only be so comfortable. Coming back was where it went to hell. First the exhaust fell off and we pulled over to some small town and tried for 2 hours to fix it at an Auto Zone. We also realized how terrible the exhaust job he had done was (from a small shop back home). We don't get maybe more than an hour later and blow out a tire at 70 MPH on damp roads. Somehow Harley avoids spinning the car out and we pull over. We limp the car 2 miles on the shoulder, tire and then wheel chunks flying, in a car with no exhaust (since it fell off again) in 90+ degree weather with no AC. We get it to some crappy gas station and restaurant just east of the Indiana and Illinois state border. We had to sit for over 3 hours until our friend Greg could come tow the car home on his flat bed. Might I also add that the evening before going to said show, Harley got 2 tickets from a cop in Indiana for no registration and expired plates. Worst trip ever, but it makes for a good story.

Feel like im going to miss them. this season schedule is rough.

2. Should nascar cup series have a midweek night race like they do with eldora?
Yes. i would like to see them try it. would need to be in a big market area though.

3. What’s your worst travel story?
had to sleep in the akron/canton airport a few years back. they wouldnt give us our luggage back so we only had the clothes on our backs. luckily pizza hut delivered to the airport lol.

1. Our second and final 1.5 mile track of the season. Will you miss them or are you ready for the mixed bag of tracks that lie ahead?
I will miss them honestly. I missed Chicago and most of the rest of the season is tracks that I'm not so familiar with.

2. Should nascar cup series have a midweek night race like they do with eldora?
I think moving a cup series race to mid week would just kill attendance (more so than it's been killed already). Maybe not for the local attendees, but definitely for those traveling in from out of town. But it's NASCAR, they are going to change literally everything about the sport trying to drum up interest and ignore the one thing that they need to fix in order to get it back to it's former glory, the cars.

3. What’s your worst travel story?
Every trip has it's ups and downs. Though, I'm 6'4", so anytime I have to get on a plane, a train, or a bus, it's just an exercise in discomfort. Those modes I generally try to avoid though.

I was once stranded at Logan National Airport for 20 hours due to a blizzard.

1. I miss racing at this point. To much pacing.

2. IDK about a mid week event, but I do think they need to make a race that's special. Something like how the Wintson/ All-Star race was.

3. I, I dont really have one.

1. I'm ready to start finishing some races again...lol

2. I dont think midweek race would raise attendance, but maybe tv ratings would be higher depending on the time.

3. So far no bad travel stories.

I've been struggling in the truck at 1.5's this season so I'm happy to see them in the rear view. Looking forward to the mixed bag ahead.

No midweek Nascar. Wednesday's are for PRL trucks! lol wouldn't mind more Saturday night events though.

Got pulled over speeding on a country road in Scotland. The cop asked me for my license, insurance, etc then he asked me what time was I born? I thought what an ff'd up question to ask. I looked at him with confusion and told him I don't know, like 1:00 am, you'd have to ask my mother? He handed me back my license and told me to slow down and walked away. My mother in law in the passenger seat and my wife in the back were laughing and laughing. Apparently he had asked what TOWN I was born. Not what time. Damn Scottish accent lol He must have thought what an idiot 😂

Nice runs tonight, fun clean competative action. Good racing with everyone I saw top 10, bottom 10 and everything in between. Not sure why I was lagging hopefully just a temporary issue, never had quality drop like that before.

Really proud of where Hard Knox SimSports has came as a team. Right now Collin Carroll is 6th in points and I’m in 4th which blows my expectations out of the water. I’ve only been on iRacing for about 2 months and I’ve only been running a team for 1 month, so it feels good to be up front mixing it up with the fast guys. I’ve had a lot of fun in this league so far. The racing last night was really good, I love those conditions. My only complaint so far is that we are rarely getting the scheduled laps in. With how realistic this sim is, that aspect adds an arcade style feel to it. I’d really like it to not have a time limit or just fewer laps to ensure it all gets in. But like I said, that’s my only complaint so far. I really like racing with you guys. When we can take it 4 wide on the front stretch and everyone come out clean, that makes for a good product on the track. Looking forward to the rest of the season!

Good racing last night. Felt really good staying between 8th and 10th. Smacked the wall off of 2 and never recovered. 12th isn't bad considering the damage. Had a lot of fun racing against the 07 and before he pitted, the 94.

Was happy with my pace and really thought this could be the race to end my bad luck streak... then the power must have flickered because my comp just reset on Lap 4 right before we were going back green. No blue screen, no error messages, just straight up restarted. Lost 5 laps, gained 3 of them back, but finished mid 20s with a truck that maybe could have flirted with a Top 5 finish. Spent the race riding around behind all of the lead lap cars because I did not want to potentially interfere with a battle for position while the only hope I had involved needing more cautions and lucky dogs.

Just wanted to say good race guys. We just about got the full race in this time so things are looking up. I know that we've had a lot of new drivers and everyone was getting used to how people drive but now that we are getting into the meat of this season lets strive for finishing the scheduled laps. We've got a pretty varied schedule so plenty of challenges coming up.
